Help me find this song.

I don't know the title or artist but it is a spiritual song with the words:

"I think I heard Him say, As he was strugglin' up the hill I think I heard Him say, Take my mother home, Take my mother home. I think I heard Him say, As they was rafflin' off his clothes, I think I heard Him say, Take my mother home, Take my mother home, I'll die this death on Calvary, Ain't gonna die no more, I'll die on Calvary, Ain't gonna die no more, Ain't gonna die no more." I would appreciate knowing the entire lyrics and music.

Thanks

TAKE MY MOTHER HOME

I think I heard Him say,
When He was strugglin' up the hill
I think I heard Him say,
Take my mother home

I think I heard Him say
When dey was spittin' in His face
I think I heard Him say,
Take my mother home

Then I'll die easy
Take my mother home
Then I'll die easy
Take my mother home

I think I heard Him say,
When they was rafflin' off His clothes
I think I heard Him say,
Take my mother home

I think I heard Him cry,
When they was nailin' in the nails
I think I heard Him cry,
Take my mother home

I'll die this death on Calvary
Ain't gone die no more
I'll die on Calvary
I ain't gone die no more
O, I ain't gone die no more

Then I'll die easy
Take my mother home
Then I'll die easy
Take my mother home

I think I heard Him say
When He was dying on the cross
I think I heard Him say,
Take my mother home

I think I heard Him cry,
When He was givin' up the ghost
I think I heard Him cry,
Take my mother home

(this version taken from a Naxxos CD called "Spirituals," by mezzo-soprano Barbara Conrad, and others - but I'm sure the song is traditional. Her recording is good, but I'd like to hear it sung by a bass, like Paul Robeson.)

Harry Belafonte does it too. Not Robeson, but good, nonetheless.........Tiger

Thanks, Tiger - I KNEW I'd heard it sung by a male voice. Have any idea what Belafonte album it's on? Anybody know of other recordings? This one and "The Holy City" are two that I think Rbeson should have done, and I swear I can hear Robeson's voice singing both of them, way back in my memory. Does anyone know if Robeson ever recorded either?
