We have a regular session in Hull on Fridays at the Kingston in Cumberland Street (it's not that easy to find, if you want them you can PM me for directions) starting about 9pm. It's an everything goes sessions, tunes from anywhere but mainly Irish and English, songs with and without accompaniment, monologues, poetry, jokes. And to you other poor fools out there, all bow down and recognise Hull as the centre of the universe! Or we'll launch unremitting waves of folk music in your direction. Buwahahaha! Les |

Perhaps I should put it to our City Fathers that we should be sister cities - if you don't mind having Rotterdam, Freetown (Sierra Leone), Szczecin, Niigata, Reykavik and Raleigh (USA). Perhaps, there's a thread in the making - which 'catters live in other 'catters sister cities (or twin towns)? Actually a lot of the people posting here have connections with Hull but have sensibly moved away, some are 'foreigners' who have moved here only recently (like in the last 30 years) and some only come here temporarily to use our fine educational establishments. It takes a lot to be a proper 'Hull Kid'. Les |
