When you hear me play the fiddle the words boot and off the humberbridge come into mind unbidden! We play here and there not realy giging at the moment will let you know when and where - we've been going for a number of years, even made a cd once - you wouldn't want to hear it though. It was pre Nik Nak and the production was poo.

As it happens, I'm Hu5 just off Beverley Road too, not far from the Widder..

It is well known Skipjack old bean, that I have had klingons on my starboard bow for years. I like to think of myself more as a mutation of some higher extra terrestrial lifeform, than having evolved from the primeordeal sump like the rest of humanity. Leastways, that's my excuse .Darwin? what a pillock! and less of the blunt instruments- I have sharpened my Bodhran into a fine point and can be seen using it to launch attacks on unsuspecting autoharpists. (It's a masterplan -I won't go into details)

Hiya! I just joined as Member too... having been told that there is quite a community of us here now!

I'm known to some, notably Les & Maggie, among others, but no doubt will get to know more of you..er....of US in the fullness of time! At Whitby, possibly, as I never seem to get to any local sessions.

For those that DON'T know me, I dont contribute much to sessions & stuff..the occasional song - badly, but exist in the main to provide 'an appreciative audience'....*G*

See you at Whitby!

Captain, the coordinates for Ickle Dorrit are showing two miles to the north of her apparent genetic profile. It appears these primitive life forms have amphibious capabilities.

Either that, Spock, or............. no, it's too fantastic to concieve............... the natives have constructed a bridgehead ........... to keep themselves ....apart! They communicate by ..... vibrating crude musical instruments, interspersed by barking noises ..... advertising their availability to mate. This is ..... fascinating. See how small groups of these .......musical communicators move in each others communities..... armed only with blunt instruments, whilst the braves stay steadfastly apart, fearing their gene pool will be invaded by alien intelligence........... We are witnessing the beginnings of civilisation. What do you think, Bones?

It's life, Jim, but not as we know it!

Yellowbellies, in the vernacular.

John, you are most welcome, however full you stuff the car. Totally leaving aside all the session psycho-analysis of late, it is only the presence of visitors that gets us off our arse to play properly, so we enjoy new blood. Despite my best efforts, there are only a couple of Cats there, as most of the surrounding area are still struggling with the concept of the bicycle, and think Bill Gates is off Emmerdale.

Bring that whistle, though, and give us a blast. And let me know which Tuesday, so I can go on a three line whip to make sure we field a reasonable side.

Skipjack

Look Guest, as has been well documented ,Les has just retired - this means that certain parts of his body -eyes brain etc are no longer functioning -God only knows what his immune system is like. Spelling and certain toilet duties are now virtually impossible. It isn't kind to bring it to the publics attention.

Eeeeek! Being new to Mudcat didn't realise quite how one thread could lead to over a 100 people joining in the discussion. I just read The Jug Saga !!!!

Having just commented on how wonderful it would be to have more local Folk Venues. Hull was a thriving Place for Folk audiences .I remember The Fox and Cony...The Blue Bell ...birth of the Watersons .. it was a sad day when Folk Union One closed with only a handful of people.

It now sound as tho the net the net is boosting the cause..so lets get together...whenever...wherever :-))) If you want a private party...get the beers in and stay home!
