They're coming to take me away, ha-ha
They're coming to take me away,
ho-ho, hee-hee, ha-ha
To the funny farm where life is beautiful all the time
And I'll be happy to see those nice young men in their clean white coats
And they're coming to take me away!

To the happy home where basket weavers sit and smile
And twiddle their thumbs and toes
And they're coming to take me away!

Alex

This discussion has been informative for me. McGrath, I like the Newsgroup Personality song. Someone is really good at rhymes!

It seems to me that trolling is another form of seeking emotional turmoil for its own sake. Other forms are daytime talk shows (American style, such as Sally Jesse Raphael and Merv Griffins), tabloids, and violent movies.

I once picked up a psychology book which said that the trouble-making personality was in style for the 1990's. (I had never thought of personalities as something that came in styles, as if they were garments.) But I thought of people I had to work with who were that type and concluded that the book was right. After that, I made it a point not to get sucked in. And not to watch television.

Making music is so much better for us all.

Jon, I am lucky to live near several big ISPs with competition and decent phone service...I once got 53,666 out of my 56K modem!..(49k is more common)...

(Jeri...I couldn't even count individual fonts right now...many are still in zips and RARs...what I need to do is waste a few CDR disks and sort them out into categories that make sense to ME)

As to cable modems and DSL etc, I'm gonna wait till the big boys quit spending all their $$$ on advertising and get the service cleaned up!..Too many horror stories here right now!..(and till I HAVE a few more $$$)

Thanks McGrath. I am living with my parents in rural North Norfolk at the moment so any change would be their choice. Having said that, I think the "triple digital" deal would have been very attractive to them had it been available in this area.

Jon
