Subject: Thanks for the Welsh From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 14 Jul 01 - 10:49 AM Recently I asked Welsh-speaking Mudcatters for help with the pronunciation of the Welsh lullaby "Suo Gan." Several people helped out. We did the picnic last Saturday. (Actually, it was in an air-conditioned building. We had flute/recorder, guitar and two harps, all positioned artfully in front of a huge stone fireplace. We alternated group pieces with solos and then did Suo Gan with everybody singing. The singing was glorious - deep basses and soaring sopranos. I think everybody appreciated the help from Mudcatters in re-living the language of their great-grandparents. So thank you to everyone who helped me out with Suo Gan. |
