Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 13 Oct 24 - 09:45 AM It's raining and seasonably cold now. We need the rain, although it lowers the spirits. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 08 Oct 24 - 07:22 PM The nights are getting cold, although still far above freezing. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: MaJoC the Filk Date: 07 Oct 24 - 01:04 PM Two days of sunlight, after too much rain. The setting sun lit up one of the trees on our green just now, and it was gloriously golden; for once, and just for a moment, I could comprehend some of what non-colour-deficient people delight in when the leaves turn autumnal. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: The Sandman Date: 05 Oct 24 - 09:50 AM rain, i had to be out clearing drains road outside like a river |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 03 Oct 24 - 09:46 AM Leaves are falling thick and fast. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 29 Sep 24 - 11:38 AM Cooling down slowly, and the maple trees are changing color. |

Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 19 Sep 24 - 06:05 PM Our last hot sunny day today. Tomorrow, although the sun will be out, it is forecast to be cooler, more like autumn. The leaves are falling already, |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: The Sandman Date: 17 Sep 24 - 04:45 PM very sunny |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 17 Sep 24 - 08:40 AM Still in the Indian Summer phase, with a cooldown forecast in a few days. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 12 Sep 24 - 04:23 PM A last taste of Indian Summer is forecast for the weekend. Other parts of the country (US) are remarkably hot. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 07 Sep 24 - 11:50 AM We have some rain headed our way, but it will pass very quickly; next week we are due to have some hot summery weather again. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 05 Sep 24 - 03:06 PM Sunny and dry, seasonally warm with a cooling breeze. Hope Stilly's region continues to get much-needed rain. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: Neil D Date: 02 Sep 24 - 01:18 PM We're in the time of year of great fluctuation. Two days ago it was 92F and today it might not get to 70. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: Stilly River Sage Date: 30 Aug 24 - 03:06 PM Finally cooling into the mid-90s this week in North Texas. Rain forecast over the holiday itself - fine with me! I grew up in the Pacific NW where school always used to start right around Labor Day. Down here in Texas it starts mid-August, though in some hot years they've delayed it a couple of weeks so they didn't have to spend so much money on the air conditioning in all of those schools. (Texas doesn't |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 30 Aug 24 - 02:15 PM We have sun, and I'm surprised at the coolness of the weather. THis is the Labor Day weekend in the US and normally it is still hot summer temperatures. |

Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: SPB-Cooperator Date: 25 Aug 24 - 05:40 AM The weather here? Were a t-shirt but thake a warm sweater and rainproof overcoaty - just in case |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: MaJoC the Filk Date: 24 Aug 24 - 12:52 PM --- Correction: after an intermittently-Biblical deluge, the sun's come out. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: MaJoC the Filk Date: 24 Aug 24 - 05:28 AM It's the start of the August Bank Holiday weekend, so, following longstanding tradition, the skies are positively relieving themselves. We *may* get sun on Monday, but the Met Office has been wrong before; all these expensive computers they use permit them to get it wrong at much greater precision. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: The Sandman Date: 24 Aug 24 - 02:27 AM sunny |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: gillymor Date: 23 Aug 24 - 03:35 PM The monsoon is in full swing here in SWFL. It's raining so hard right now that the gutters can't keep up with the down pour. I had to walk through a waterfall to get in my building and the parts of me outside of my rain jacket are soaked. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: Neil D Date: 20 Aug 24 - 02:20 AM SRS, I think some of your politicians brought that heat with them when they emerged from the Netherworld. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: Stilly River Sage Date: 19 Aug 24 - 01:00 PM The heat from Texas hasn't leaked out to warm you two? I wish! We've been under heat advisories for a while, though these days aren't as hot as they were for the last couple of years. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: Neil D Date: 19 Aug 24 - 12:29 PM keberoxu, We're having the same thing here in Ohio, USA. It's 12:24 in the afternoon and it's only 66 degrees F, I believe that's 19 C. That's nearly 20 degrees below normal. It's quite blustery as well. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 18 Aug 24 - 02:50 PM Heavy rains and chilly nights now. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 15 Aug 24 - 11:39 AM Unusually cool temperatures for August, of all months. The days are pleasant, and the nights are downright chilly, most unusual. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 10 Aug 24 - 02:45 PM Now that the big storm last night has cleared out to sea, we have brilliant blue-sky sunshine with puffy white clouds, and lowered humidity -- could not be more lovely. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 08 Aug 24 - 03:24 PM What's left of Hurricane Debby has crept up the Mid-Atlantic seaboard and is bringing a steady soaking rain to my part of Massachusetts. There are flood warnings out. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 07 Aug 24 - 08:15 AM Finally, a steady, soaking rain, not like the violent cloudbursts of the previous week. This rain will benefit the farmers hereabouts, who have been lamenting the lack of rain for their crops. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 03 Aug 24 - 01:08 PM it's hot, hot, and hot ... |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: Sandra in Sydney Date: 31 Jul 24 - 06:22 PM I was buying groceries & had trouble getting the correct note out of my wallet event tho I'd been in the supermarket for a while! My hands were still frozen (Harbour City version of frozen!) sandra latest temperature reading 8am, 20 mins ago - 9.2C feels like 4.0 |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: Charmion Date: 31 Jul 24 - 04:31 PM Sandra, your 12.7°C is a very damp 12.7°C, and I bet you feel it in your bones. I spent a few winters in Nova Scotia, and I remember the misery. Halifax in November was downright purgatorial. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: Sandra in Sydney Date: 30 Jul 24 - 09:01 PM here on the eastern side of the land of Oz we're going thru a cold snap! Thermometers show low temperatures, but the "feels like" factor means it's colder! I live in a wind tunnel street where winds rush up the hill, past the 2 skyscrapers at the start of my street & howl along. Our front door does not always close! Sometimes pulling it shut is a fierce battle between me & the wind, but I make sure I win. 2 days ago I went out around 4pm into the wind, wearing my thick down jacket normally only worm when I head south to festivals in winter, underneath I was wearing 2 (Sydney) thermal wool skivvies & my thick Scottish-made jumper, the temperature was 12.7C feels like 4.7 (54F feels like 40F) Those who live in snowy climates might think that's summer, but here in the Harbour City it's cold! I live a 10 min stroll from the Harbour, but can't see it. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: Charmion Date: 30 Jul 24 - 01:52 PM And now it's raining stair-rods in Stratford. The cloud cover is so dense I have to turn the lights on in the kitchen to wash the dishes. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: Charmion Date: 29 Jul 24 - 02:50 PM Hot and steamy in Perth County, Ontario, with thunderstorms in the forecast for tomorrow or the day after. That's no surprise, however. In these parts, hardly a week goes by without a couple of storm cells blowing east from the lakes. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 28 Jul 24 - 07:20 PM Well, we still have the month of August ahead of us, which usually means hot muggy weather. At the moment, though, the weather is mild for the summer, not too hot and the humidity is tolerable, it's pleasant outside. Probably too good to last, though. There are to be thunderstorms coming mid-week. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 24 Jul 24 - 07:42 PM It's ever so muggy around here. More clouds than rain. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: Neil D Date: 21 Jul 24 - 06:08 AM Normally it's sweltering in mid-July around here. (Ohio, USA) But this summer it's more likely to be 70s at high noon dropping to high 50s at night, great sleeping weather. These temps or more like September than July, but quite pleasant. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: JennieG Date: 16 Jul 24 - 06:53 AM Well, it's freakin' cold. Today's temperature only just scraped into double figures - that's Celsius double figures - and the 'feels like' barely made it to four degrees. More of the same tomorrow. Ah well, it is winter after all, and the third week of July is historically the coldest week of the whole year in Oz. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 15 Jul 24 - 07:17 PM More of those hit-or-miss cloudbursts forming with the higher-than-usual heat. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 13 Jul 24 - 03:39 PM The remnants of Hurricane Beryl missed my area, but they scooted to the north, to Vermont, where catastrophic flooding took place (think, inches of mud filling homes). Anyone else affected by Hurricane/Tropical Storm Beryl? |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 10 Jul 24 - 06:27 PM The cloudbursts today were something else. Sheets of rain for ten minutes, and then poof, all over, and the sun came back out. Didn't cool things down, though, it was as hot and sticky as ever. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 05 Jul 24 - 03:58 PM Cloudbursts: rain really hard, then suddenly stops, then starts again. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: Neil D Date: 04 Jul 24 - 10:20 AM Beautiful! |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 02 Jul 24 - 05:09 PM Enjoying moderate and dry summer weather, nice while it lasts, but of course it won't last -- the thunderstorms will return. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 29 Jun 24 - 09:18 AM Raining, and cool even for June. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 27 Jun 24 - 11:35 AM Enjoying a spell of mild (cooler) weather after the recent heat wave. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: Bill D Date: 23 Jun 24 - 09:32 AM I just posted this on Facebook... I take the current close-to-100F weather with these memories in mind. In July of 1954, my mother & I got on a train in 111F in Wichita, KS to go visit her brother in San Diego. We spent a nice week or so in balmy 78F, then went home and got off to 109F... ooof! I have delivered newspapers in 102+. The record in Wichita was 113 that year. |
