Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: robomatic Date: 30 Nov 24 - 05:24 PM We've had some single degree (F) days. Today I stopped in at the grocery for a paper but I didn't buy greens because they'd freeze in the car inside of a few minutes. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 30 Nov 24 - 01:33 PM Our white Thanksgiving is a modest coating, not melting because it is so cold. Other parts of the country, around the snow belt in the Great Lakes, have gotten snow measured, not in inches, but in feet. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 27 Nov 24 - 06:29 PM New England may have a white Thanksgiving to its north and in higher elevations. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: Donuel Date: 24 Nov 24 - 05:52 PM At 6:50 this morning we had a breathtaking fire in the sky tangerine sunrise. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: Dave the Gnome Date: 23 Nov 24 - 05:21 AM Storm Bert is trying his best to hit us at the mo but he is not too bad. Good carpet of snow earlier but now raining and much warmer. The snow will have cleared later. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 22 Nov 24 - 04:10 PM By the time the rain started here, we already had a wildfire on the side of a nearby mountain, now mostly contained. The rain won't last that long, but it will usher in colder weather soon. IT would be better for the prevailing drought if we had mild temperatures and more rain, but that is how it is. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 19 Nov 24 - 04:46 PM Rain and wet snow in higher elevations -- not at the moment, but headed this way before the end of the week. The precipitation is needed to lower the threat of wildfires. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 15 Nov 24 - 04:50 PM Our big problem here is the dryness of the weather. We have red flag warnings in effect to warn of the danger of fires, as in brush fires. The little bits of rain we have gotten, simply were not enough to make up for the dry periods at this point. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 12 Nov 24 - 01:17 PM It's a late autumn day: cold, clear sky with puffy white clouds, and a wind blowing the dead oak leaves around. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: Mrrzy Date: 06 Nov 24 - 07:26 PM Gorgeous, close to 80. So wrong. The world should be weeping. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 02 Nov 24 - 12:50 PM The seasonal autumn temperatures have returned, although we have a red flag warning because of danger of fires, as there has been no rain and everything is very dry. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: robomatic Date: 28 Oct 24 - 01:01 AM The mornings are low 20s. Tops out about 40. We are due for a couple days of snow before Halloween. The black Lab I play with most days before lunch doesn't know what cold is. She doesn't know the difference between uphill and downhill. She looks straight into my eyes and waits for me to kick the Chuck-it ball. I try to kick it high off the ground because she loves to jump nose up after it like a seal after a fish. The Chuck-it ball is 9" across and has grooes sewn into it specially for a dog to be able to get their teeth onto. Nooka gets her purchase on the ball and will come after me and get a little head action into a return toss to me. That is my best chance to kick it over or around her. Otherwise she will block my groundball like an expert goalie. Her owner is concerned that she has started rolling on the ground, but I have not seen her roll IN anything, so I think she is expressing happiness at simply being there. It is obvious that she is a happy dog As I type this I have National Public Radio on. Earlier in the Summer, The Moth Radio Hour had a session for Alaskans, and some of the participants are being broadcast right now, and they are good and- mostly- funny. A friend told me that we're going to get 7" of snow which did not cheer me up very much. But her dog will be ecstatic. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: Donuel Date: 27 Oct 24 - 12:10 PM It will freeze and hit 80 F this week in the DC area. The trees are a riot of full color. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: Stilly River Sage Date: 25 Oct 24 - 07:04 PM October 25 and we're still in the high-80s, low-90s every day. About six weeks since our last rain. Supposedly it will rain on Halloween - looking forward to it. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 25 Oct 24 - 06:14 PM THe seasonably chilly temperatures, especially at night, are due to resume tomorrow. The leaves are half on, half off, the local trees. It won't be long until the trees are bare. |

Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 21 Oct 24 - 01:00 PM We are having a very late "indian summer" with temperatures above 70 degrees, and lots of sunshine in a cloudless blue sky. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 18 Oct 24 - 01:52 PM Soon it will be chilly and the trees will be bare, but not now: now we have glorious autumn color and the sun-warmed air is delightful. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: Thompson Date: 13 Oct 24 - 12:30 PM Jaysus, it's brassy. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 13 Oct 24 - 09:45 AM It's raining and seasonably cold now. We need the rain, although it lowers the spirits. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 08 Oct 24 - 07:22 PM The nights are getting cold, although still far above freezing. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: MaJoC the Filk Date: 07 Oct 24 - 01:04 PM Two days of sunlight, after too much rain. The setting sun lit up one of the trees on our green just now, and it was gloriously golden; for once, and just for a moment, I could comprehend some of what non-colour-deficient people delight in when the leaves turn autumnal. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: The Sandman Date: 05 Oct 24 - 09:50 AM rain, i had to be out clearing drains road outside like a river |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 03 Oct 24 - 09:46 AM Leaves are falling thick and fast. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 29 Sep 24 - 11:38 AM Cooling down slowly, and the maple trees are changing color. |

Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 19 Sep 24 - 06:05 PM Our last hot sunny day today. Tomorrow, although the sun will be out, it is forecast to be cooler, more like autumn. The leaves are falling already, |

Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 12 Sep 24 - 04:23 PM A last taste of Indian Summer is forecast for the weekend. Other parts of the country (US) are remarkably hot. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 07 Sep 24 - 11:50 AM We have some rain headed our way, but it will pass very quickly; next week we are due to have some hot summery weather again. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 05 Sep 24 - 03:06 PM Sunny and dry, seasonally warm with a cooling breeze. Hope Stilly's region continues to get much-needed rain. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: Neil D Date: 02 Sep 24 - 01:18 PM We're in the time of year of great fluctuation. Two days ago it was 92F and today it might not get to 70. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: Stilly River Sage Date: 30 Aug 24 - 03:06 PM Finally cooling into the mid-90s this week in North Texas. Rain forecast over the holiday itself - fine with me! I grew up in the Pacific NW where school always used to start right around Labor Day. Down here in Texas it starts mid-August, though in some hot years they've delayed it a couple of weeks so they didn't have to spend so much money on the air conditioning in all of those schools. (Texas doesn't |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 30 Aug 24 - 02:15 PM We have sun, and I'm surprised at the coolness of the weather. THis is the Labor Day weekend in the US and normally it is still hot summer temperatures. |

Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: MaJoC the Filk Date: 24 Aug 24 - 05:28 AM It's the start of the August Bank Holiday weekend, so, following longstanding tradition, the skies are positively relieving themselves. We *may* get sun on Monday, but the Met Office has been wrong before; all these expensive computers they use permit them to get it wrong at much greater precision. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: The Sandman Date: 24 Aug 24 - 02:27 AM sunny |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: gillymor Date: 23 Aug 24 - 03:35 PM The monsoon is in full swing here in SWFL. It's raining so hard right now that the gutters can't keep up with the down pour. I had to walk through a waterfall to get in my building and the parts of me outside of my rain jacket are soaked. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: Neil D Date: 20 Aug 24 - 02:20 AM SRS, I think some of your politicians brought that heat with them when they emerged from the Netherworld. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: Stilly River Sage Date: 19 Aug 24 - 01:00 PM The heat from Texas hasn't leaked out to warm you two? I wish! We've been under heat advisories for a while, though these days aren't as hot as they were for the last couple of years. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: Neil D Date: 19 Aug 24 - 12:29 PM keberoxu, We're having the same thing here in Ohio, USA. It's 12:24 in the afternoon and it's only 66 degrees F, I believe that's 19 C. That's nearly 20 degrees below normal. It's quite blustery as well. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 18 Aug 24 - 02:50 PM Heavy rains and chilly nights now. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 15 Aug 24 - 11:39 AM Unusually cool temperatures for August, of all months. The days are pleasant, and the nights are downright chilly, most unusual. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 10 Aug 24 - 02:45 PM Now that the big storm last night has cleared out to sea, we have brilliant blue-sky sunshine with puffy white clouds, and lowered humidity -- could not be more lovely. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 08 Aug 24 - 03:24 PM What's left of Hurricane Debby has crept up the Mid-Atlantic seaboard and is bringing a steady soaking rain to my part of Massachusetts. There are flood warnings out. |
Subject: RE: What's the weather like where you are? From: keberoxu Date: 07 Aug 24 - 08:15 AM Finally, a steady, soaking rain, not like the violent cloudbursts of the previous week. This rain will benefit the farmers hereabouts, who have been lamenting the lack of rain for their crops. |
