Subject: I need my Run C & W From: Whistleworks Date: 14 Jul 01 - 10:31 PM Dear Friends, Recently, I was looking through my modest CD collection and discovered that my two Run C & W CDs were MISSING. As a player of the Irish whistle, you can imagine the shock that I went through. Anyway, if anyone can point me to a site that sells these two MUST HAVE CDs, I would be very thankful. Subject: RE: I need my Run C & W From: Benjamin Date: 14 Jul 01 - 11:36 PM Is it still in print? If so, does the record company have a website? Geez! I'm stumped here! Sorry! |
Subject: RE: I need my Run C & W From: katlaughing Date: 15 Jul 01 - 12:40 AM I saw them both listed on Yahoo music, but I would urge you to call Dick Greenhaus (of the DT) at Camsco or Sandy Paton at Folk Legacy, as Sorcha suggested, first, as they deserve our support. They both have websites, but I would call, as sometimes not everythign is listed there. kat |
Subject: RE: I need my Run C & W From: Benjamin Date: 16 Jul 01 - 04:44 PM I hope somebody has them! I'd hate to lose a favorte CD that can't be replaced. Couldn't imagine losing my Bross Townsend CD? I'm not sure if you ever lended them out, but that's something I've found is good to avoid if the CD is a favorte or has any value. |
Subject: RE: I need my Run C & W From: GUEST,Arkie Date: 16 Jul 01 - 07:55 PM Is this THE Burns brothers, Side Burns, Rug Burns, and their old man, Dad Burns? |
Subject: RE: I need my Run C & W From: Ritchie Date: 17 Jul 01 - 08:54 AM Benjamin, I've got in my collection a copy of the one with the song about Tanya Tucker...gee I'd like to be in her video !! but I did n't know that there was another !! if you're stuck I'll get you a copy. ritchie |
Subject: RE: I need my Run C & W From: Whistleworks Date: 17 Jul 01 - 10:22 AM Thanks to everyone who posted. I just got in touch with Jim Photoglo, who was one of the original Burns Brothers (I think he was Side Burns) and he's sending me on both CDs. Glory be!! I thought that I would be without these, and that is a terrible, terrible thing. Yep, Arkie, this IS the Burns Brothers. What made me just love this music is not the fact that they spoof Motown (which is lovely in itself) but the musicians on these tracks are so darned GOOD. Vocals, everything. Excellent. So if anyone is missing their Run C & W stuff, I'll get you Jim's info and you can get copies through him at a very good price. Best wishes to all. Bob Pegritz |
Subject: RE: I need my Run C & W From: Ritchie Date: 17 Jul 01 - 10:33 AM Bob, can you do that please. like I say I thought that they only had I CD. thanks Ritchie |
Subject: RE: I need my Run C & W From: Kim C Date: 17 Jul 01 - 10:36 AM I love the Burns Brothers. I think we only have their first CD, but I don't remember. We saw them at the now-defunct Summer Lights here in Nashville, several years ago... and lemme tell y'all, these guys were GOOD! What a hoot. What's so funny is, all the songs Really Do Sound Good as Bluegrass. See what happens when you let your mind prance outside the box? |
Subject: RE: I need my Run C & W From: Benjamin Date: 17 Jul 01 - 01:50 PM You can get me a copy if you want Ritchie. But to be honest, I have no idea how we got to Tanya Tucker. Long Live the Burns Brothers!! BMW |
Subject: RE: I need my Run C & W From: Whistleworks Date: 17 Jul 01 - 02:13 PM Dear Friends, You can get both of Run C & W's CDs from Jim Photoglo by sending him an e-mail to info@jimphotoglo.com Be specific as to the CD since he has both. The first Run C & W CD was called "Into the Twangy First Century" and the second was "Row vs. Wade". Please tell him that I sent you on. And thanks for the great feedback. As always, you can depend on the 'cats. Bob "River deep, mountain high" Pegritz |
