Subject: Runrig
From: GUEST,mbridgham@belgard.com

I'm trying to find the lyrics to several songs off Runrig's "Cutter and the Clans" album, especially Hearts of Olden Glory and something about Summer's Greatest Pride(?)."We were young.."

Can anyone help me out? I've checked Runrigs sites but no lyrics to the songs from this album.

Thanks.

Subject: Lyr Add: HEARTS OF OLDEN GLORY
From: SDShad

Well, since there was at least the one specific song request in the request, and Joe recently (and rightly) admonished me to include the actual lyrics in a thread rather than just the link, since links can go away, I'm posting the words (and chords) of "HEARTS OF OLDEN GLORY" here. I got them at this here blicky, which appears to have the entire lyrics of the album you're wanting, Marc.

  Hearts Of Olden Glory

G e D
There´s thunder clouds round the hometown bay
C G
As I walk out in the rain
e D C D
Through the sepia showers and the photoflood days.

G D
I caught a fleeting glimpse of life
C G
And though the water´s black as night
e D C D
The colours of Scotland leave you young inside

Refrain:
e C G D
There must be a place under the sun
e C G D7
Where hearts of olden glory grow young.

G D
There´s a vison coming soon
C G
Through the faith that cleans your wound
e D C D
Hearts of olden glory will be renewed.

G D
Down the lens where the headlands stand
C G
I feel a healing through this land
e C G D
A cross for the people like wind through your hands.

Refrain

Subject: Lyr Add: PRIDE OF THE SUMMER
From: George Seto - af221@chebucto.ns.ca
Date: 16 Jul 01 - 11:29 AM

This is the second of the two he specifically asked about PRide of the Summer

Pride Of The Summer

I still hear the snares in the square
Colours ablaze in the evening
The air was still down the stormy hill
It4s good to be young and daring.

Ref.:
Beat the drum, beat the drum
Like a heartbeat lonely and strong
Beat the drum.

I still see the blood on the knees
The camans swing without warning
The lads in white at the speed of light
It's good to be young and daring.
Ref.:

Across the bay I still hear the strains
The two steps loud and blair-ing
We walked hand in hand to the accordion band
It's good to be young and daring.
Ref.: 2x

She was the pride of the summer that year
She was my sweetheart, my lady
We walked the black rock and we stopped by the loch
It's good to be young and daring
Ref.: 3x
