I wonder, does anybody remember an old humourous music-hall (I think) song with the refrain "And so does Father"? The only words I can remember are from a verse where Mother & Father go to town to do some shopping : "... and so does Father, so does Father - Mother carries hers with pride, Father carries his inside!" I was sure I'd found it ages ago, but I can't locate it now...

'So Does Father' was written by T W Connor and sung by Dan Crawley. Published in 1907. Information from British Library catalogue and Michael Kilgariff's monumental index.

This is one of the songs I was looking for when I first found the Mudcat, in order to compile a songbook for my Grandad. He's sadly now passed away, but did enjoy the book. I'm pretty sure it did include this song, as I believe I did find it in the end.

I have the lyrics at home - I'll post it tonight or over the weekend.

Amazon.co.uk lists it, but it isn't clear whether the they have the sheet music for sale. I don't see any button that says "buy."
