I think Mudcat is a great site and it is the only one in many years of surfing that I have ever logged into every time I am on line. It saddens me to see the mud slinging creeping in the net equivilent of the bucketmouth nerds on CB radio, which is why I gave that up many years ago.

PLEASE PLEASE don't respond to these juvenile idiots; preserve a dignified silence, remember children only make trouble to attract attention.

Yes, I think the key to getting rid of the people who obviously try to create dissention is just to not respond. A blow is only effective if it finds a target.

Heartily Agree, just think how many times you have a wonderful walk through great countryside. Only to come home with a bit of shit on your shoes. Remember the GOOD times forget the BAD. Above All, if sounds stupid don't even Click on it. Maybe I miss some good stuff here, in general though, I don't even understand what the Hell is going on when I accidentaly get to read the crap. Hear hear, ignoring is the best thing, but sometimes I am just tempted to respond, the temptation to ignore and not even read syndrome alsmost stopped me reading this, with all the exclaimation marks, I tought the writer was sure to be named GUEST!

You will I am sure always find friends here and people ready to help you with your dilemmas whatever the subject, I always have, I have not always agreed with their comments, but I have never taken offence and occasionally they have led me to change my opinion on a matter. Freedom of speech is a great thing, I am happy to let people have their say, whatever the subject, and in doing so, accept that this will always leave us open to some pratt trying to prove what a dickhead they really are!
You can't please all of the people all of the time, there IS room in this world for all of us, granted I haven't as yet been personally attacked but Sticks and stones......

You're right about the crap on the shoes. We can't avoid coming in contact with the crap from time to time. But we can avoid contributing to it.

Seems what might be useful would be the cyber equivalent of a well shot bird while passing by, leaving no opportunity to respond. Since we're unable to do such an entirely appropriate thing via the 'cat, perhaps a simple mental bird might at least offer some consolation. :>)

Giok, I absolutely agree with you, both about your praise and your advice. If I get into one of those threads by accident I just sneak away and don't open it again. If something nasty develops in a thread I contribute to I try to ignore it, or make a joke. I'm not here for those unpleasant threads, but I won't be kept away by them either.
