Subject: folk music in Quebec City in August
From: Susan-Marie

I'm going to be in Quebec City the second week of August for a conference, and would like to track down some Canadian folk music in the evenings. Any recommendations? I'll also have a day free to do some hiking - any recommendations on that?

Hi Folks, well, Larry is going to Quebec for two days of great food and getting away from all the bad little monkies. As usual... Larry is going to stick a bunch of Sorcha Dorcha Demos in his ruck sack (I'm getting worried, Larry is speaking of himself in the third person... HE DOES NEED TO GET OUT OF NEW YORK!!!)
So, all you Quebecois Cats, any good ideas on where I should drop a few demos, for the HARDEST WORKING CELTIC BAND OF ALL TIME! (Found at http://sorchadorcha.com ... boing goes the plugomatic - spaw... ) So, where is the good music, eh? La Boutine Souriant, Barachois, Kastin, - and where might some poor folk from south of the boarder get a gig...? Cheers Larry PS Spending time on Orleans as well, but I don't recall there being any music venues there, eh? Have to go up to Ille au Coudre for the music.

Be sure to bring a good pair of climbing boots! Chez Son Pere at 24 Rue St. Stanislav is a good place to start. There's a small stage area, a few tables, a bar, and things start well after 9 PM. It's uphill from Rue St. Jean, or was when we were there 2 years ago. Phone: 418-694-1648

Good news Larry! I'll be happy to meet you. It's a little off season for folk music, but as Charley said, Chez son Père is always open (and still at the same place). I'll drop you a PM to let you know how to reach me, and I'll check what might interest you.

SP
