Subject: RE: Cropredy festival, UK From: Noreen Date: 09 Aug 01 - 02:49 PM Well, it's this weekend, and headlining tonight is Lonnie Donegan! My only comfort at not being there is that it was p***ing down with rain there (according to friend who is there), while blue sky and white fluffy clouds rule here. I expect to get sound snippets over the weekend via mobile phone, if they're not drowned out by thunderstorms... Anyone else there, or going? Noreen |
Subject: RE: Cropredy festival, UK From: Llanfair Date: 30 Jul 01 - 02:44 PM I can't go, either, but Dalek will be there, he's got the tickets and everything!!!! I've a horrible feeling I won't make Whitby, either!! I've been doing a temporary office job, and the person I'm covering for is away Whitby week. Sod it, Bron. |
Subject: RE: Cropredy festival, UK From: Noreen Date: 30 Jul 01 - 11:04 AM I am not able to go this year either, Sledge *sniff*, but it's good to be reminded of it. Anyone else going? Llanfair? Dalek? |
Subject: Cropredy festival, UK From: sledge Date: 30 Jul 01 - 10:16 AM Well you know how it is, you spend a sizeable chunk of the preceeding 12 months planning the details of a stay in a north Oxfordshire field, you scan the line up and see the great acts scheduled to play and let out a loud huzzah. You get in the pub with like minded friends and discuss breakfast menu's, what booze needs to be taken and who goes in which car, tents, which instruments to take and which ones might be bought from Hobgoblin. I talked my opposite number at work into a somewhat convoluted schedule with almost no dissent so that to go would be no problem. Then whichever cosmic deity that decides its their personal mission to dump on me has me transferred to a new work site, due to a different work rota there is no way that I can now go and as its gets closer I console myself that there are bound to be some kind souls on this list, who will post a full review of all that they see and any chats that take place. So those of you who can go have a great time, hope the sun continues to shine and the ale flows. Cheers from the Sahara Desert (honest) Sledge |
