Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Lake Ainslie From: Sandy Mc Lean Date: 04 Dec 11 - 07:17 PM I can't say that I ever heard this song but I would like to have it as well. Stanley Collins wrote many songs about the Lake Ainslie area and I thought it may have been one of his, but I called his folk-singing son and he did not know it but said it wasn't one of his father's. Sorry but not much help. |

Subject: Lake Ainslie From: GUEST,ewanclark@hotmail.com Date: 30 Jul 01 - 04:17 PM I'm looking for the words to a Cape breton folk song that I heard in my youth because I can't remember all of it. It begins something like this:
Sad was the news that they brought to Lake Ainslie Has anyone ever heard of it or better yet do you know the full version. I would be eternally grateful for it is a fine song and one that I's lkke to have in my repetoire. Ewan "Sudsy" Clark |
