WELL, NOT EXACTLY......

It's for folks who get a note from their Doctor (and a couple of Doctors I know would be only too happy to write the notes!)

The paper says that we're the first country in the known universe to take this step, so for once we're not in the US's shadow.

Personally it won't do me a damn bit of good 'cause I discovered long ago that if I did a toke.......

1. during a gig: I'd forget all my lyrics and look like an idiot.

2. during a party: I'd get so bored with everyone else that I'd go home and listen to Rachmaninov

3. At home.... I'd listen to Rachmaninov (the C#m) and then fall asleep

Nope, legal dope wouldn't give me as much of a kick as strings that don't go dead.

What makes me smile, is thinking how apoplectic Jesse Helms must be.......not only are we Pinko Commie Castro-lovin' draft-dodger-riddled hockey pucks....now we're poster boys and gals for "reefer-madness" as well!

Time to get out my "Fabulous Furry freek Brothers" comics.

I've never used it and hope never to need to; can't stand the smell of it. I am glad for those people who can use it for relief from painful medical problems, etc. Too bad our country can't wake up to that as a proper use.

Health Canada has made the concession only for chronically or terminally ill patients. The doctors associations have recommended a "go-slow" approach. It is unlikely that reputable doctors will OK the treatment for anyone outside the group Health Canada exempted; they would face censure from their association and probable legal action as well if the patient did not fit the chronic-terminal parameter.

Now just in from the news wires , A major Fortune 500 company has recently recruited Rick Fielding to personally counsel all of the executives in their company. Cheers to the common sense shown by the Great White North! No one can show me a reason compelling enough for me to change my mind on the concept that terminally ill people should have access to any substance which will relieve their pain. Hell, take away their car keys and give em' LSD for breakfast and heroin for dinner, if that makes em' feel better! Then again, there's probably something in the Bible which refers to the U.S criminal code's controlled substance laws, so we can't have our exalted politicians go against that, can we?

I seem to find new reasons every day to be Libertarian, LOL!

During the days of the British rule in India, the authorities became worried about the use of the weed by native soldiers and employees. A study was commissioned, the conclusion of which was that there was no real problem with its use outside duty hours. I used to have a reference to it but lost it long ago. The problem with general usage is the same problem that we have with smoking in general and with alcohol, other people are affected by its use especially youths with little common sense.

...but I hear this morning the US DEA have gone on to a sovereign native American area to destroy their plantation of non-drug industrial hemp, which was to provide work for unemployed young people. It would have been used in building and in Body Shop skin preparations. Their only excuse was they wouldn't be able to tell the difference fromthe air!
