I recently heard members of the Rose Tattoo at a festival on Vancouver Island, BC. One of the members performed a song that I really liked.. I came to the database looking for the lyrics and the tune but didn't find a listing..

can anyone out there help me out??

I found a website with the lyrics of several of the albums listed which can access by clicking here. I didn't see any with the title you've given. If it could have an alternative title, it might be worth while looking at each song listed there.

Can you tell us any of the lyrics?

hi Kat...

I followed the link and was mighty confused because the photos did not resemble the folks I saw at all. Turns out that there are two bands named Rose Tattoo.. one a loose fellowship including Utah Phillips, and one an Aussie rock band :)

I checked out the Utah Phillips website and found lots of references to the Rose Tattoo, but no links to a website for them.. but I'll keep looking and remember to add the word 'folk' when I'm searching.. meantime, I'd still appreciate any hints folks might have..

There is a link on Utah's website which has bios on some of the Rose Tattoo. Sorry I had the wrong one before.

If no one knows of this song, I'll bet you could write to Utah and he'd find them for you or probably knows them.

Are you sure of the title? And, can you give us any of the lyrics?

I think it may be a Si Kahn song, but I may be wrong. If anyone knows it, though, it would be Janet Stecher of Rebel Voices (in Seattle). If you send me a personal message with your email I'll pass the word to Janet and see if she can get back to you. Any fragments of the lyrics you can recall would help, too.

By the way, Rebel Voices is a duo worth checking out. They're based in Seattle, I know they've performed at the Vancouver Folk Festival and elsewhere in BC and across Canada.

thanks a bunch Mark.. I followed your link to the Rebel Girls site, and found an email link there. I was feeling brave that day to I sent them a note directly asking my question and they have answered in the affirmative.. they both know the song and will share it with me. Your assistance is MUCH appreciated!
