Well, I got to meet Rich R from the Mudcat last night. Too bad Dave (the Ancient Mariner) hadn't been able to be there.

Rich R is officially on vacation, albeit with his family. They don't enjoy our folk music as much as he does, so while he's here in Nova Scotia, and even in Lunenburg, he JUST (by THAT much) misses the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival

I invited him to come to Halifax's Harbour Folk Society gathering last night, and he came out, minus his family. Vince Morash, our host, coerced Rich into singing several songs. He sings some great songs.

Hey Rich, I would still love to hear the song you have about your occupation!

With this broad thread title it may not be thread creep to mention that Sam Pirt and '422' will be at the Tonder Festival in Denmark from 24 to 26 August, as well as Jez Lowe & the Bad Pennies. The programme doesn't list anybody else who has posted on Mudcat.
Any more Mudcatters on tour at the moment?

Jean Ritchie (kytrad) is always somewhere. Here's a calendar. I missed her at the KY Music Weekend July 29, but it looks like she'll be in Savannah in October.

The Deaf and Dumb Choral Society will be in action at Towersey over August Bank Holiday... may even sing a song or two that made their debuts in the Snug.....

LTS

(The D&DCS sing, but also illustrate the song with a variety of easily followed sign languages and popular gestures).
