Well, I'm a bit late given the wave of engagements and lovin' that swept the 'Cat a few months back, but the Other Half has said he'd like to make me an honest woman, and I've said I'd like to see him try, so anyway that's us engaged and finding it all very embarrassing telling people...!

It seems the holiday down the west coast of Ireland did the trick and put him in fine romantic form! Wedding plans are still quite distant - we're going to wait til I finish the PhD which should be in 2 years time.
Ahhh, RtS, I have a card with the archaeologist quotation on it sitting on my shelf.

CONGRATS THERE FIB!!!!.....Wonderful news and two years isn't a long time for an archeologist. Personally, I've always found them to interesting people if you can wake them up at the party.

Ah, lovely! Thanks again folks. The Other Half fiance(!) has just returned to Ireland, but I'll be seeing him again at the fleadh (yes, much drinking to be done there Ella!). When I agree to "for richer and for poorer" with him I know we'll be down the latter end - such is the life of archaeologists - still, I'm going to marry my best friend and you can't be bad to that! It might have been a bit cheaper if he'd dug me up a ring though...

I just love this!!! Fibs, I am as happy as I can be for the two of you. I wish I could make it over for the fleadh to toast proper the betrothal.

Please be advised that I am the Keeper of the Sacred Fertility Rites here in our little village. In keeping with those sacred duties, I would be happy to meet you in the temple for a little pre nup instruction. Wouldn't be proper for Mudcatters to go running off and getting wed without proper instruction........................LOL.

I spent seven years working as a field archaeologist but I'm cured now I had to go through the terror of trying to live on zero income oh well I'm sure you'll both be very happy
