You could try Arthur Wakefield's club at the Dog & Partridge in Bollington near Macc on Fridays. For really good sessions try the Harrington Arms in Gawsworth near Congleton, also on Fridays. There's loads more, but they are the only ones I can think of off hand. good luck. John

Maybe slightly out of your area, but there's a lot of info here

Also, this site should get you started

My colleague at work, Dave Blythe frequently attends the Harrington Arms that John J mentioned.

He tells me these are predominently Irish sessions with a smattering of other stuff for variety.

Congleton doesn't sound too far distant from Stoke to me!

Let us know how you get on Roz - Good luck :-)

hi guys :-)

Due to yur help I am beginning to find the folk circuit over here.

Following a good time at the Nantwich Festival I met up with Arthur :-)) and co. at Bollington and also Sandbach Unplugged. I popped over to see Judy Dunlop at The Crown in Sandbach. Wonderful nite!

Three very friendly and welcoming clubs :-) this is a great area for meeting new folkie people.

I am looking forward to other sessions too!

Not met any catters yet tho :-)

Thanx again Roz

Hi, White Dove, wish I'd been at the Judy Dunlop session; I love her voice. Chris While/Julie Matthews are at the Biddulph Arms Nov 15th Are you taking up permanent residence in the Stoke area?

I thought I heard that the Potteries FC was still going possibly in Newcastle-u-Lyme. Richard Ashe runs a site listing in Staffordshire & Cheshire. His e-mail is richard@ashe.greatxscape.net. Can't find his URL.
Will go searchin. Watch this space.
