I would like the full lyrics and any background (writer, singers?) please to a song I heard in the 60s which starts: Walking lightly, smiling slightly, you come back looking slightly faded, Morning sunshine shining brightly on your lips of faded red, And you know darn well, Iknow you completely, And you can't fool me, you can't fool me.

I remember Rosie Hardman singing it many years ago. T her web site, she has lots of lyrics on it.

SLIGHTLY FADED
(David Campbell)

Walking tightly, swaying slightly,
You come back looking slightly faded.
Morning sunshine shining whitely
On your lips a faded red.

Ch.But you know darn well,
I know you completely
And you can't fool me
You can't fool me.

Your brain is burning, your eyes are turning
from me, they can't face me squarely
In this morning all my learning
Says things aren't whay they should be.
ch

Your hair is tumbling, your hand is fumbling
for the ring I gave you wildly
Onward stumbling, your lips are mumbling
trying to find the words for me
Ch
No use talking, keep on walking
Move on fast you sporting lady
On your night beat, good time stalking
Go on being what you should be

But you know darn well
.................'cause we've been here before
I know you completely
..................And it's one time to many
And you can't fool me
You can't fool me.

I seem to remember David was from Ghana. He wrote many searching songs. I could never get from him if this was a personal story or not. It's about a young man who finds out that the lady he was planning to marry is a lady of the night as David used to call her in his intro to the song.
