I spent some time thinking about whether or not I want to announce this on Mudcat, since, as far as I know, none of you folks know me. What the heck, it can't hurt. I'm going to be on the radio, not the first time, but it's also going to be broadcast over the internet, which is a big deal for me. The show is called the Heartlands Hayride, broadcast over WDVR FM in Sergentsville, New Jersey. I'll be sharing the stage with about 15 other musicians, so I only get to do 2 songs in the 2 hours that the show is on the air. On the radio, it's 89.7 - but you have to live in Hunterdon County or the surrounding area to pick it up. It's at www.wdvrfm.org on the internet, Saturday, Aug. 18 between 6 and 8 pm ET. I guess I should mention my name, so you'll be able to tell which musician is me - Steve Garcia. I'll be singing and playing banjo and harmonica. I'm the only old-time musician on the show, everyone else is bluegrass or traditional country-western. They're all good musicians and the show is usually worth listening to.

Good luck Steve, I won't be able to hear you, because I don't have internet radio, but let us know how it goes.

I'll be sure to tune in Steve. Where do they have the hayride, and is it open to the public? As you know,WDVR is only minutes from me.

Ron.

Too bad the signal doesn't reach the Haddonfield/Cherry Hill area. I'd like to have a listen.

"as far as I know, none of you folks know me"

Bad bet, Steve. The world is smaller than you think.

Joan sends regards. We still light candles to St. Royster even though I failed to show up for his last festival.

Good luck on the show.

Fred

Dear Steve, Ron, and Rowana, et al,

Well, I'm glad I read this thread, cause now I've found out that you're all in the Mudcat neighborhood (in terms of real geography, not virtual neighborhood). So why not come to Mudcat Radio, in West Chester, PA, some Tuesday evening real soon? We'd love to have you come and sing, play, and shoot the bull with Max, myself, and whoever else comes! Max is talking about decreasing the frequency of the show come fall, cause he's gonna be teaching 2 nights a week. Try to come before that happens, if possible. We'd love to have you! You can PM me, or email me at Familywork90@aol.com, and I'll give you my phone number, directions, etc!

Marymac

Ron, From Route 12 take Route 523 south into Sergentsville. At the only traffic light, turn left. A little way down the road on the left is a church - the Brethren Church, or the Church of the Brethren - I don't remember the exact name. That's the place. The show starts at 6pm.

Rowana - Do you ever get to Albert Hall in Waretown (Ocean County)? My band, the Woodlot Howlers, plays there on the second Saturday of every month.

Fred - I tried to PM you, but it didn't work. Didn't have a party last year, and it doesn't look good this year either. PM me with your email address and I'll send you mine. It's nice to see I know someone here at Mudcat.
