From West Side Story, isn't it called "Somewhere"?

Lyrics from a Google search:

SOMEWHERE
Originally from the 1957 Broadway musical, West Side Story
Music by Leonard Bernstein & Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim
This version taken from Barbra Streisand's 1985 album, The Broadway Album

Someday, somewhere
We'll find a new way of living
We'll find a way of forgiving
Somewhere...

There's a place for us
Somewhere a place for us
Peace and quiet and open air
Wait for us
Somewhere...

There's a time for us
Someday a time for us
Time together with time to spare
Time to learn
Time to care
Someday, somewhere
We'll find a new way of living
We'll find there's a way of forgiving
Somewhere...

There's a place for us
A time and a place for us
Hold my hand and we're halfway there
Hold my hand
And I'll take you there
Somehow
Someday
Somewhere....

RtS (But folk & blues it ain't!)

RtS

Is this snobbery?

If people sing it for their own amusement, as people do, then it's folk. The difficulty I have is not that any song can be "folk" (under the right circumstances) but that someone can describe themselves as "a professional folk singer".

:-)

Ian, you must know by now nothing I say is ever serious! With my voice and lack of musical talent the last thing I can afford to be is a musical snob! I don't consider myself a folkie. I like musicals as well as jazz, skiffle and blues,50s rock and roll and some folk. My aside was referring back to "what isn't folk thread" and merely a statement of fact, wasn't it?
