Ernest Tubb did a song called "When My Get Up Has Got Up and Gone". After a long search that included Cowpie and the official ET website and numerous mail-order music sites, I've found it on a Bear Family reissue that costs close to $200.00. I'm not that big an ET fan. Does anyone know the words?

Thanks, but that's not it. The opening lines were: I'd like to let my hair down while I can, 'cause someday I am gonna be a much older man".

However, the one you led me to isn't bad.

The Ernest Tubb version is actually titled "Til My Get Up and Go Has Got Up and Gone." According to Google, it's on the "Waltz Across Texas" album, by Ernest Tubb and the Texas Troubadors.

That was the only info I could find with a Web search. Anyone have any more? The version in the DT isn't the one RangerSteve is looking for.

I'm gonna revive this thread until I get an answer. No, it's not the one in the DT. It's by Ernest Tubb. It exists on one recording, a reissue on Bear Family that's part of a boxed set that costs close to $200.00. Please don't make me buy it. Remember, ET recorded some seriously bad stuff at times, and that set is bound to include some of it. You folks have never failed me before, I can't believe you're going to do it now.
