Subject: whereabouts of Ken Haferman From: Coyote Breath Date: 26 Aug 01 - 02:43 PM Ken Haferman is a very accomplished clawhammer banjoist whom I have lost track of. The last that I heard, he was living in Milwaukee (Wisconsin). If anyone knows his whereabouts or (god forbid) his fate, I would appreciate their passing this on. I apologize for asking this here since it isn't musical in the usual sense. I have run out of other approaches to locate him and fear the worst. |

Subject: RE: Help: whereabouts of Ken Haferman From: GUEST Date: 02 May 12 - 04:29 AM Love it. I googled Ken, knowing full-well that he'd not be found directly in the cybersphere. I was looking for him, Ben and Jonas. Been a long long long long time. Startled and happy to hear the grandkids' voices here.... Sending love from a decade lost here South Korea and another decade scattered in the dusty wind. C.W. elwalkero@hotmail.com |

Subject: RE: Help: whereabouts of Ken Haferman From: GUEST,coyote breath as Guest Date: 09 Aug 16 - 02:06 PM I was able to contact KWH and he, me. We carried on correspondence for a while and then he departed for Maine. About the same time my sister Karen left Maine from Belfast about 60 miles south from where Ken has settled. The best thing about this quest, though, besides finding an old friend is finding another, Bruno Triliegi. My last contact with him (actually his family) was a visit from his brother Peter who was then in Martinez, California when I lived in Concord, CA. He brought me a tape that Ken and some cohorts had made. Ken and I never got to play together. At our ages traveling back and forth can be problematic. I hope it possible to contact Bruno through the phone number. Romana, Coyote Breath is actually Tom Meisenheimer. If you see this you or Bruno or Peter can find that musical me at Band Camp or on YouTube. Just type my name and for accuracy put banjo in there too there is a Thomas Meisenheimer from Germany who plays Sitar on YouTube as well. |
Subject: RE: Help: whereabouts of Ken Haferman From: GUEST,Jen S. Date: 31 Mar 17 - 12:44 PM Hello all, Sadly, Ken Haferman passed away yesterday evening, March 30, 2017. He suffered a heart attack while riding his bike in his favorite Milwaukee east-side neighborhood. He is survived by his partner, Jan, 5 children and 5 grand children. He was pure and genuine. His banjo-playing, book-sharing and wisdom will be missed by us all. |
