Nah CH.....You're not alone.....You had to figure I'd have it bookmarked too didn't you? I particularly like "Bug-Eyed Earl."

Once I got past the name, I found some of them kind of humourous and sickly, but mild compared to some I've seen. Some were even pretty good.

Well, I've read it now...

It's the sort of crap that rises out of the gut of a civilization that deep down hates itself, and is choking on its lack of basic worth. No wonder Dylan wrote "Desolation Row" and sang it with such a tone of weary alienation in his voice.

Mind you, I did find the Aquaman one kind of funny. :-)

But that's enough for me.

Nope, never heard of it. Doesn't sound worth checking out, either.

Our weekly alt newspaper carries it. But somehow, only the funny ones, 'cause the website has plenty that aren't. He does have a touch, though... of what, I'm not sure, but when he's on, he's on. How does he make those unchanging inane faces so meaningful?

Using a picture that is virtually identical, if not completely identical, for 3 different frames certainly saves a lot of time and work. This guy has obviously hit on a handy cartoonist's technique here that might be more popular were it not a tad boring. If everyone did it, it would be VERY boring. As it is, it's sort of a curiosity piece, being just confined to Red Meat.

The guy with the pipe looks a lot like my father, 15 years ago or so, except my father lacks the pipe.

Bleagh!

Cool! I didn't even know Red Meat HAD it's own website. I've always just read it in the Onion.

Bug-eyed Earl is great! Redmeat is bookmarked here in Mississippi!

I love the "God" strips, too!

I love Bug-Eyed Earl. His intensity reminds me of Himself. I think Milkman Dan is my favorite, however. Very twisted.

Bravo Clinton.

I guess I was just too busy watching the bizarre machinations of actual humans to notice this. Consider that oversight rectified.

Ted Johnson is the spititual descendant of one of my all time anti-heroes...R. Crumb's "Whiteman".

Don't ya just love visiting someone's domicile for the first time and seeing YOUR favourite weirdness dotting their book shelves?

Isn't it a sinking feeling when you visit someone's domicile for the first time and see about a dozen videotapes in a row, labeled "Cosby"? (that happened to me when I was still single)

Rick (awfully nice, but terribly sick)

Guest... it's already has... there are new Red Meats... but no new Far Sides...

^5's Rick! Gotta love Crumb!

I didn't like Crumb much...mostly because I really hated the way he drew (and related to) women, generally speaking, but I did like the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers. Those idiots I found quite amusing. They reminded me of various friends and acquaintances in the early 70's.

Then there was Harold Hedd. Started out great, but got kind of gross after a while. His cat was a classic character, as was Fat Freddy's Cat in the Freak Brothers.

compared to the Far Side, redmeat is about as funny as Mothers Day in an orphanage.

That's your opinion Guest... and yer welcome to it...

But like I said earlier... the BUG-EYES have it so far!

8-|

Far Side, to me, is about as over done and dull as Monty Python... sure, in it's day it was great... but that day has come and gone...

And has anyone else noticed how much Ted resembles Bob? As in The Church Of The Subgenious, Bob?

Oooh, I have! Himself and I have random Bob sightings these days, as the Chruch of the Subgenious is not what it used to be.

Praise Bob, and may you have Slack.

Don't let Max Cannon hear ya' say that about Bug Eyed Earl. He may suddenly start spouting "Dylan-isms."

"wrinkled knee on the leotard of lethargy" sounds almost Dylanesque anyhow.

;-)
