Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Veronica Plays Her Harmonica From: GUEST Date: 28 Aug 01 - 06:46 PM There are tons of Kay Kyser tunes on the net, unfortunately, this one is not seeming to be one of them... |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Veronica Plays Her Harmonica From: Jim Dixon Date: 25 Jan 02 - 12:59 PM The lyrics quoted by GUEST above are actually part of Adam Sandler's "The Hanukkah Song," 1994. You can see the rest of the song here along with some other Hanukkah songs. There is a Kay Kyser web site, and it lists 78 songs (or tunes) out of 400 he allegedly recorded, but it doesn't list this one. Other sources say that "When Veronica Plays the Harmonica" was recorded by Kay Kyser's Campus Cowboys in Dec. 1947, with vocal by Gloria Wood. It was released on Columbia #38197, with "Woody Woodpecker" by Kay Kyser and His Orchestra on the other side. If you want to go shopping for the 78, you may have better luck asking for "Woody Woodpecker" since it was a much better known song. I can't find any lyrics, or any evidence that this song was ever issued on a CD. It has, however, been played on Dr. Demento's radio show. |
