You can pretend it's a mandolin for the purpose of playing chords and tunes, but when you try to play with other people you will be in the wrong key. Enhhhh, relax and enjoy it. I do. If you can play mandolin or fiddle, you will find it a challenging extension of what you can already do to learn to play tunes in the keys that they are not designed for. EG if the tune is in D, say St Anne's Reel, you have to learn it in "A" fingering. Not too hard. Tunes in A, you play in E (Hard). Tunes in G are good, you play them in D. W-O |
