Okay harpy......You sign up to go next year and I'll go too. Oughta' be pretty good pix for the 2002 calendar! Spaw |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: Justa Picker Date: 09 Sep 01 - 11:54 PM In a situation like that, only my hair could stand on its end. I'd still have to use my watch to tell time. |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: Peter Kasin Date: 10 Sep 01 - 12:50 AM Now there's a gig where "Pene Azul" could appear on the program :-). |

Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: Ron Olesko Date: 10 Sep 01 - 09:29 AM I wonder how many T-shirts they sell?
|
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: catspaw49 Date: 10 Sep 01 - 11:51 AM Well Ron, they don't have T-shirts, but they DO sell the "Iron-On" transfers............Pretty painful though.... Spaw |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: Willie-O Date: 10 Sep 01 - 12:48 PM Hmm, don't know about a full-fledged nude festival, but I did play a Pagan Festival With Nudity last weekend, which prompted this journal entry from My Daughter: "my interesting father he's so interesting this weekend he did several interesting things with the cars. and now he's playing at a pagan festival. and i have uncommunicative parents. so i did not find this out for a very long time. and now i am sitting here giggling to myself at the idea of my father and peter playing at a nude pagan festival. like that peter sellers movie, with the guitar." I had to explain, it wasn't quite like that. I kept my clothes on, so did almost everyone. But it was no big deal if you took some of them off and a few people did. Pretty much like the sixties, or as in my case, the seventies. Willie-O

Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: Bill D Date: 10 Sep 01 - 12:56 PM I like nudity...I DISlike sun, bugs, sharp objects and instruments sticking to my skin...*grin*...I would only go naked at an event in controlled circumstances...(now skinny-dipping in warm shade...there's the ticket!) |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: catspaw49 Date: 10 Sep 01 - 01:05 PM That's kinda' tough on the 'harp though ain't it Bill? Spaw |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: Mountain Dog Date: 10 Sep 01 - 01:05 PM Bill D. Should we ask what axe you're playing whilst skinny dipping in the warm shade? Since Martins would tend to get waterlogged and cheap imitations delaminate under those conditions, is it safe to assume you're playing an Ovation...or perhaps simply looking for one? ;) |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: catspaw49 Date: 10 Sep 01 - 01:11 PM Mountain Dog.........Perhaps, though Bill plays Autoharp, he's thinking about THIS!!! Spaw |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: Murray MacLeod Date: 10 Sep 01 - 01:34 PM If I were going skinny dipping with a guitar, the only logical choice would be a Seagull ........... Murray |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: catspaw49 Date: 10 Sep 01 - 01:37 PM I dunno' Murray......Might be a real shitty decision. Spaw |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: brid widder Date: 10 Sep 01 - 01:39 PM do the Morris Dancers still wear bells? |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: Bill D Date: 10 Sep 01 - 01:46 PM gol-LEE gang...first you play, WITH clothes on...then you take 'em off and swim....then you put 'em back ON and play summore....(with all the stupid disclaimers nowadays, it's only a matter of time till Martins come with a warning sticker..."caution, using this instrument underwater may cause warping and loosening of glue joints") |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: Peter Kasin Date: 10 Sep 01 - 02:18 PM Where on the net did you find that, Spaw? That's brilliant! |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: catspaw49 Date: 10 Sep 01 - 02:32 PM Somebody posted that here once before, but I entered guitar boat in google since I didn't save it before, and it popped right up....it's a postcard, but somewhere there is a story to go with it. Spaw |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: catspaw49 Date: 10 Sep 01 - 02:42 PM Better yet Chantey me boy, CHECK OUT THIS!!! That's a damn good replica!!!! Spaw |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: Midchuck Date: 10 Sep 01 - 02:50 PM do the Morris Dancers still wear bells? I would assume they'd wear more bells...they'd have more places to put them. Peter. |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: Little Hawk Date: 10 Sep 01 - 02:52 PM Actually, for skinny-dipping I would recommend not a Seagull (it might get ruined), but one of those old Kent guitars. They make excellent life preservers in a pinch. - LH |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: GUEST,Celtic Soul Date: 10 Sep 01 - 02:57 PM Oh GAH! Remember the thread on plastic surgery, and would it help your career? I think that this relates. I am not gettin' nekkid no way no how on stage until I had some serious help from a surgeon, and I rather think my audience would be grateful! ;D |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: harpgirl Date: 10 Sep 01 - 04:01 PM ...ah heck! I thought no one would admit to going! Right again, harpy!!! |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: catspaw49 Date: 10 Sep 01 - 04:09 PM So once again there harpster....Have you signed up for next year? I need to know so I can put my registration in too. Spaw |

Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: DougR Date: 11 Sep 01 - 06:03 PM Only been to a nudist colony one time. A friend lives in one and invited me to a festival (non musical)there for a day. I learned two things: 1. Not all men are created equal 2. Not all women are beautiful in the nude DougR |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: GUEST,Ranks Date: 12 Sep 01 - 07:59 AM That reminds me of a song Called "We were playing in Nudist Colony" sung by an english Duo (I think called 1812). Funny, that the musicians are wearing Clothes. This could lead to an interesting thread: Which musicians would you like to see perform naked? Greetings, Ranks |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: CarolC Date: 12 Sep 01 - 08:30 AM I am casually aquainted with some of the people who performed at that event. Just can't see the ones I'm aquainted with being willing to do it in the nude. And, strangely, I can't think of any musicians I'd like to see perform naked. Does that make me a prude? |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: CarolC Date: 12 Sep 01 - 08:38 AM I take that back. I would be willing to see Wattie Lees perform naked. Wattie is a Scotsman who plays the Irish pipes and Irish whistle. Last I heard, he was a cop living on an island off the coast of Ireland. Any ladies thinking about going to the Common Ground on the Hill festival and workshops in Westminster Maryland, USA, should ascertain if Wattie will be there beforehand, and sign up for his classes even if you don't play either of those instruments. And if you can get a private lesson, so much the better. |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: harpgirl Date: 08 Aug 02 - 10:41 PM ...just for you, Celtic Soul! But you won't see me there, though....hey an eyeful and an earful! cool! |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: harpgirl Date: 08 Aug 02 - 10:45 PM Oh, and I was swimming naked with some friends a while back and one coulple said they got married at a nudist colony! One way to keep your relatives away from the wedding! It worked for them, they said! |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: catspaw49 Date: 08 Aug 02 - 11:31 PM Harpy, the real advantage to getting married at a nudist colony is that everyone can see who the Best Man really is! Spaw |

Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: Genie Date: 09 Aug 02 - 02:33 AM Having visited bathing-suit beaces in Italy and "clothing-optional" beaches in Oregon, I can't really say that the sight of the average Joe or Jane in the nude is that much less appealing than the sight of the average Giovanni or Gina in a string bikini. Funny thing, having seen lots of folks nude at the beaches here in Oregon, I can't really say I remember much about folks' anatomies except for the features I'd have seen even if they'd been wearing suits. It took me about 2 minutes to get used to the nudity the first time I visited Rooster Rock State Park on the Columbia. But maybe that was because I wasn't standing there in my overalls looking at a bunch of nekkid people. I do recommend putting a towel between you and the guitar if you're playing in the nude--and putting the guitar down before you jump in the water! Just think, folks. If you're on stage in your jeans and T shirt and your audience is bare nekkid, maybe they're calming themselves by picturing you naked! Genie |
Subject: RE: Avalon Nude Folk Festival: Who Went? From: GUEST,.gargoyle Date: 09 Aug 02 - 02:43 AM HARPIE You know...this morning...for the first time ....I have un-wound the peculiar traits of you ....and the puss-pussy that anoy me to no end.
You BOTH start threads about things you don't really care about. There is no urgency in your life, or her's about nudism, gardens, or libraries ..............................You post ...........because......................you are................................bored.................lonely........sexually frustrated.........hungry.......constipated........or just idjets.
You don't REALLY seek a solution to a concerned question.
Women O Women you have a rattlin tongue
Sincerely,
now girls.... why is this Not an attack upon the messenger, ad hominum?
