Anybody else watching this? Sinsull....Where are you? This is simply an unbelievable disaster and not much is known yet. Suspicion that it was hit by a plane and now there is a second picture....LIVE...of a second plane actually hitting the OTHER tower.......Terrorists?

Yes, I was watching when the video came on right after the first impact, and then the second plane hitting while the camera was running.

Sure is already beginning to look like terrorist attacks.............How many trapped? I wonder if the South Tower was evacuated after the North Tower was hit?

Car bombs are something, but this is something else! How many dead already?

There was also news of a hijacking around the same time. This is horrible, doesn't seem like two planes, one in each tower could be an accident.

Pray lots of people were late for work the timing was first plane just before 9 the second shortly after. THe planes were aparently hijacked, how many people on the planes?

One high jacked American Airlines plane, so there were passengers/hostages on board that one. Flight 11, after leaving Boston and originally headed for LA, taken over and flown into the tower.

Just heard that the first plane was allegedly a 767 that had taken off from Boston........The second plane looked on the replays to be similar in appearance....Size is hard to determine....767---737??? They're different sizes but have similar shapes.....wing mounted engines well droppes and a largish tailplane surface........My first thought on seeing the second was a 737...

Terrible situation for the rescue people.....both are over 60 floors up........

The timing! they waited 20 minutes after the first plane to make sure the media had full attention on the Towers and then the second plane hits. Very well planned.

Now there has seemed to an attack on the Pentagon....a helicopter crash, possibly intentional..........Reports also of a fire on the mall in DC.........Whitehouse has beem evacuated.......ALL airports have been closed across the entire United States.

I double the request for immediate news and thank the posters.

We have almost non-existant TV where we live (and work) -- without cable, and since I haven't watched TV since 1983, we have no TV cable. All the news websites I've tried are totally jammed and where I have been able to access, the site lags radio news. So my news right now is Mudcat and the radio.

My radio says one of the Trade Center planes was an American Airlines 757 that was hijacked from Boston.

Our base has just gone into the highest state of alert. The base is effectively closed. We are removing all visitors and contractors. Our long distance telephones have been cut off.

Scary stuff. My girlfriend called to check on me. She works for a media firm in Portland and is up to date on what is happening.

They are talking now to a woman who is one block to the east of the Trade Center. Her apartment is full of smoke and she cannot get out because of debris in the street.

Holy shit. Midnight in Oz and I'm just about to go to bed after watching a football show on the TV. An urgent cross to the US and I behold a disaster. Both places I've been to. A couple of years ago I was on the observation floor of the World Trade Centre - bloody hell I'm shivering.

I am numb. I have watched this whole thing live. Today, I fear, marks the beginning of something I have prayed never to have to see again. Comments like "make a crater" which is understandable, will only lend fuel to a terrible fire. Listen people, take time...........pray with all your might. War is a terrible evil. But today the first shots have been fired. Make a crater, and you make a nest which will incubate the eggs of a very long conflict, a very long tragedy. We must respond, we must hunt down, in a very surgical way, those responsible. But we must also, if we are wise, determine what would cause a people to be so desperate as to take this step. What are the conditions that caused a people, whomever they are, to take a step which will surely lead to their destruction. If we only react with anger we are doomed to see the children, all of our children, lead down a very sad path. I have seen it before, even participated in it. Please God, guide us now.

Watching the reports on a little black-and-white TV in the office. Smoke all over Manhattan, apparently. Ash in the streets as if a volcano had erupted. Reports that a terrorist had called in (where?) to say there were 5 targets planned. New York Stock Exchange trading suspended.

Part of the Pentagon has just collapsed. West wing of the White House has been evacuated.

Please send prayers, good thoughts, whatever you've got, to everyone involved in these incidents as well as rescue and medical personnel working to save lives.... as well as this nation... as well as the world.
