Subject: Prayers/Thoughts for all involved From: katlaughing Date: 11 Sep 01 - 10:54 AM Trying to keep a focus on sending good thoughts/prayers/energy to all of the victims of the World Trade Centers, Pentagon, and other places. Also to all of the emergency personnel, reporters, etc., plus our own who are involved in responding. And, Big Mick is right: it is desperate people who take to such extremes and there needs to be an understanding of that, too. Hey, hey Great Spirit, hear our cries, bring safety, calm, and solace to all involved. Ho.

Subject: RE: Prayers/Thoughts for all involved From: Sorcha Date: 11 Sep 01 - 11:15 AM May the Gods and Goddesses take Their Own revenge on these cowards. (I have kin scattered all over the East Coast--Eastern Shore MD, NYC---please pray for the Brooner Family......) |
Subject: RE: Prayers/Thoughts for all involved From: Fiolar Date: 11 Sep 01 - 11:19 AM My most sincere sympathies to the American people in this terrible situation. Sheer bloody madness. What can possibly be gained by such slaughter and destruction. I hope that finally the democratic governments of the world can come together and hunt down the monsters who are responsible for this carnage and once and for all make the world a safe and better place. In the meantime my prayers for the American nation. |

Subject: RE: Prayers/Thoughts for all involved From: Cappuccino Date: 11 Sep 01 - 01:00 PM My 13-year-old is watching live TV with me here in England - how do I explain what's happening? Even my prayers seem so insignificant. I hope nobody thinks that sounds terrible. - Ian B |
Subject: RE: Prayers/Thoughts for all involved From: Jimmy C Date: 11 Sep 01 - 01:02 PM Words fail me, my thoughts are with all, especially our mudcat friends in the New York area. I have 2 nieces in New York and only pray that they are safe. All sane people throughout the world must do whatever is necessarey regardless of time and cost to ensure this never happens again. I turned on the TV this morning and thought I was watching a movie. What a terrible slaughter of innocents. How can you explain this to our children ?. |
Subject: RE: Prayers/Thoughts for all involved From: Pseudolus Date: 11 Sep 01 - 01:02 PM Sounds normal to me Ian. When the enormity of the situation is like it is today, one prayer seems so small. That's why we need so many.... Take Care, Frank |

Subject: RE: Prayers/Thoughts for all involved From: Burke Date: 11 Sep 01 - 01:48 PM For all the people on the planes that crashed, their families & loved ones. For all the people working in the World Trade Center who were not able to get out. The injured, the killed, their families and loved ones. For the police & firefighters who were in the Center towers when they collapsed, their families & loved ones. For all the rescue workers now on the scene assisting and evacuating the injured. For all medical workers in the hospitals around the city. For all those with families & loved ones whom they have not heard from & for whom they fear the worst. For those who can conceive & carry out such acts of hate & destruction.

Subject: RE: Prayers/Thoughts for all involved From: Wyrd Sister Date: 11 Sep 01 - 01:53 PM (From the other thread-I couldn't load it all) Barbara, it feels trivial at the moment but we still need to celebrate "anniversaries, birthdays, retirements, friendships and the glorious New England Fall" When ordinary people stop rejoicing in ordinary things and each other is when terror wins. Hope this is not the wrong place, our thoughts with all increasingly as the situation develops. |
Subject: RE: Prayers/Thoughts for all involved From: Quincy Date: 11 Sep 01 - 02:01 PM Words cannot express my sorrow and devastation for all involved....please be assured of my prayers. All my love, Yvonne |
Subject: RE: Prayers/Thoughts for all involved From: Dave the Gnome Date: 11 Sep 01 - 02:01 PM Repeat from the American Attacks thread - hope it helps someone. My thoughts and prayers go first to the victims and their families. They go next to all other Americans and New Yorkers in particular. I have experienced a terrorist attack of a very minor variety compared to this and the horror I felt then was appaling. When Manchester centre was bombed there were no deaths fortunately and very few injuries but it gave me a taste of what was like to live in that environment. The damage done has taken us years to rebuild. The shock still lingers. Be strong and understanding. You will rebuild both cities and friendships as we have. Don't let it get you down. Love. Dave |

Subject: RE: Prayers/Thoughts for all involved From: guinnesschik Date: 11 Sep 01 - 02:18 PM I'd like to take a moment to urge any and all that can to give blood. I know it doesn't sound like much, but we're gonna need it. And yes, our thoughts and prayers are with those at the line of fire, too. |
Subject: RE: Prayers/Thoughts for all involved From: Walking Eagle Date: 11 Sep 01 - 02:23 PM U'sda Utugi. Cherokee for 'Go with Good Hope.' This prayer I send up to those many who have entered the spirit world this day and to those many who have helped victims and to those many families and friends who have lost loved ones. The spirit of mother earth is not walking in beauty and peace on this day. Or many other days, for that matter. I also send up this prayer to those who feel they must take such actions and to their families as well. |
Subject: RE: Prayers/Thoughts for all involved From: Amos Date: 11 Sep 01 - 02:38 PM The planes on which spirits walk are in turmoil and overwhelm this day -- the outraged dislocations, the bewilderment and losses still burning in the hearts of those discovering themselves without their beloved forms and identities, the chaotic pulses of anger and outrage and destructive rage burning through the aether. I join Walking Eagle in praying, "U'sda Utugi" to all those who find themselves suddenly and violently displaced in the worlds. A. |

Subject: RE: Prayers/Thoughts for all involved From: Joe Offer Date: 11 Sep 01 - 09:55 PM I'm wondering how long it will be until there's a backlash in this country against Arabs and other Muslims, against anybody who even looks like an Arab. May we all have the strength to resist prejudice, even in this trying time. I hate the thought of retribution, but I suppose it is inevitable - may it be moderate and just, with no more loss of innocent life. -Joe Offer- |

Subject: RE: Prayers/Thoughts for all involved From: katlaughing Date: 12 Sep 01 - 03:30 PM I have tied a big black ribbon around our huge old elm tree, Susan, and on our mailbox and on my car. First thing I went out and did this morning. Walking Eagle, thank you for the beautiful prayer. The ancestors will indeed be busy helping all of those souls torn so cruely from this existence. Let us be of service to them and to all of the survivors. Mitakuye Oyasin, kat |
Subject: RE: Prayers/Thoughts for all involved From: Brían Date: 12 Sep 01 - 05:29 PM I have always believed that people are basically good. That belief has not been shaken by this event. I do, however believe that there is Evil, and we must always be on guard against it. Being on gaurd against Evil is not the same as hunting it down and killing it everywhere we imagine it exists. I did hear a report of a man being singled out in my town (Portland, Maine) to be harassed and threatened because he appeared foreign(Indian). He had been an American citizen for 25 years. It is easy to forget we were all foreigners at one time. We were relieved to find friends who live in the vicinity of the WTC are all right. One was performing on the west coast. Her husband was in NYC with his cousin and had planned to go to the WTC later that day. We are grateful to find they are safe, but it seems a hollow condolence in light of this tragedy. There are others I am concerned about I won't talk about in this forum. Brían |
