Steve Suffet here. My wife Marilyn, my daughter Lilit, and I were all far from Lower Manhattan at the time of the disaster. We're OK.

I've heard from Eric Levine, Ray Korona, Joel Landy, Jessica Feinbloom, Evy Mayer, and Joy Bennett, and all are alive and well. I presume Alison Kelley is safe as well, as she was at work in Brooklyn, although I haven't spoken to her.

Alison's friend Darren worked on the 102nd floor of WTC and we haven't heard from him as yet (but hoping he's safe, but not able to get through), so she's not in a good place mentally. - Her brother Brad and friend Dan are with her. Please pray for Darren and the rest of the still yet anaccounted for.

Other NYC chantey folk who have benn in contact and are fine are:David Kleiman, Ellen Weiss, Dan Milner, Jan Christensen, Frank Woerner, Matt Bram. I will update as emails come in and I have service.

I managed to make it home with one of my co-workers and we picked up 3 hitchhikers on the way, our small contribution to the cause. My friend marsha and I will try to give blood today. The blood banks were overwhelmed yesterday by all the people wanting to help.

Still waiting to hear from some friends and colleagues who worked in the WTC. Some have called me safe at home, others no word as yet. A feeling of helplessness is all over right now.

One thing -- people say many things about NYC and New Yorkers, but in a crisis and in a pinch, the people of this city band together to help one another. It is truly an amazing place.

Thanks for letting me know about annap. My current search is for Janet Mansky, an employee of Credit Suisse First Boston who comes to shanty sings in NYC. CSFB had it headquarters in the WTC, but it does has offices elsewhere, so perhaps she's safe.

Pls let me know if you hear anything.

I also want to share how much pain Alison Kelley is going through. While watching the horror and worrying about Darren, she had to comfort her class full of special ed teenagers while they watched the whole event from the window, screaming for their parents who worked in the building. Please keep Alison and all of those kids in your prayers.

Thanks to all for posting the email info I sent earlier. Bonnie Milner is fine, she was surfing in New England at the time. this is the first time I've had to get ontoMudcat in awhile and will only stay for a moment more. I've been on the phone all day checking in on Pinewoods members -- so far only good news. Hope it stays that way.

Still worried/concerned about Alison's friend Darren -- we're hoping he's among those who were injured, but not critical and that he was one barged to NJ.

Please send out your prayers to Alison and to Darren's family - that he may be found alive and well.

And keep a prayer in your hearts for all the other missing people - that their families will at least have closure if not their loved ones home alive and well.

Genie heard from her office mate. The first explosion bent in her office windows, and she left. We can no longer reach her office phones, after the first building fell, so it is possible that her office is badly damaged. Thank god for her being in court that day. She and I are praying for the cops who Genie knows, who ran out of the court she was in, the six or seven blocks to the building with their medical bags. They must have been among the first ones in. They were out of court already when Genie and the other lawyers heard the second plane hit.

Thank God all of you are safe tonight. The only silver lining is to see all the names listed here. Otherwise the day's been clear but there's no sun to be seen. I was overseeing a job site at the Coast Guard Air Station, Otis Air force Base, Cape Cod yesterday, we had another crew working at the Navy Base, base in Newport. I had no idea why all the jets & choppers were suddenly airborne when the base inspector informed my about the WTC. I thought he was pulling my leg & told him that. Then I realized that in moments guards were in place where they weren't before, barriers going up at main gaates while other gates were shuting down. We had a guard on the roof in minutes shutting down the job waiting while the men wrapped it up while, 2 more guards waited at the base of the ladder. The same happened to our other crew in Newport. At a job site meeting today, one of the project managers ask about a job site blood nearly braking down as he asked. He had another crew working at the WTC yesterday, today all of them are gone. It'll be a long time before the sun shines again, thank God for all of you on this list. Barry

There was some concern about Ken Schatz. I can confirm that he's safe. Actually, I can reconfirm it, as someone else previously reported him safe. Also on the safe list are Stepahnie Glover (Daphne's younger sister, also of the Windlasses), Alaric Shapli, and Sharon Abreu.

The one who still needs our prayers is Darren Bohan. As of this morning no word has been received.

Let me remind everyone that the prayers of an infidel like myself count just as much as the prayers of the most devout believer.

Matthew, that link's page says to go back a page and enter a last name. When I tried different combos of the addy, I couldn't get it to work.

The New York Post and Fox TV, along with AOL, I think, have a website for listing a missing person's name. It si alphabetised and can be viewed, as well as one may neter a name. Some have been facetious, but the majority are heart-wrenching. I did not see Darren's name listed, so it might be a good idea for someone who knows all of his info to enter his name there. Just go to New York Post and scroll down the page to the middle where there is a small banner about missing persons. There you choose, View or Enter a Name.

Also, there is an interesting article about how people are using the web to search for loved ones, and it has some sites listed as well: LA Times

Bonnie and I are okay.

On an ordinary day, we would walk to Bonnie's job a few blocks north of the World Trade Center. Last Monday, she followed a whim that took her 200 away from the city.

Last Monday, I was in Bremen. One day, two aircraft mechanical delays and an emergency landing later, I was crossing the USA - Canada border enroute to New York. The plane was diverted to Boston.

Two days later, we've finally arrived in Manhattan. Crossing the river, the absence of those two tall towers made this a "Naked City," the title of an old tv show about NYC.

All of this will take a great deal of time to sink in.
