I have been trying to access my e-mail all DAY now, and nothing! The whole kit and kaboodle seems to be crashed. Anyone know what the hey is happening here???

Sorry, I am still awaiting word on a loved one.

And I know I should be using some other ISP, but hey, it was free, what can I say.

I agree with both Clinton and troll except for one thing. The mail butler. I like the mail butler who tells me I have mail, and I can hear him even if I'm in another room.

I just wish he wasn't such a perky, smug, self-satisfied, jerk.

I think all of the services pack up from time to time, often only in part of their service area. Some of the little outfits serving small town and rural customers in my neck of the woods are really bad.

True. I just changed servers myself. The old one provided zero support. But the bills were always on time.

When you change, don't bother to change to AT&T. I've had nothing but problems with them, they lie about the service that they provide, swamp you with banner ads and you'll have to reboot twice a day.

Funny that, I had no problems with my BTinternet last night, right up until midnight. Now, a mere 8 hours later, the damn thing tells me I've no socket so I can't send or receive Email, it kicks me off after 15 mins for no apparent reason and it has already made me lose a long posting to another thread!

Seems everyone is having trouble with something this week.

My Btinternet seems ok (so far.......) I've just changed from AOL cos of faster and more reliable connections. Also far less crud on screen with bt = faster processing. (IMHO)

CarolC... Any decent web browser/email program... (Netscape, Opera) will allow you to play a sound file when mail arrives.. and you can pick your own sound file...

It's Joanna Lumley that tells me I have E-Mail, and you are right AOL is SO slow now, sometimes takes ages to connect.
We stay with it because of "Better the devil you know!!"

I had a file that sounds like a British soldier crashing out of a swamp, pursued by an alligator and announcing.."Message for you, suh"....but my wife 'suggested' it was a little startling. anyone want a copy?
