Subject: Something cheerful; new Willie-O tunes From: Willie-O Date: 17 Sep 01 - 10:15 AM Due to last week's shocking events I put off mentioning this till now. But I've got a new set of (original) tunes on the mp3 site, both straightforward major reels in the Ottawa Valley/New England style. The Sandwich Reel was named after a cryptic remark you can hear at the very beginning of the tape. I have no idea why I said that. The second tune, the Seventies Reel, is one I made up yea, that long ago, probably the first tune I ever kept. I've long believed deep down that I stole the B part from something-I-heard-somewhere, if anyone recognizes it please inform me. (I had another all-guitars recording of this tune on the site previously, but it was too fast and had nasty background hiss so I removed it in favour of this take.) Tunes are played on mandolin, fiddle and guitar, all by me. (4-track). This is the only recording I've ever put out that I played fiddle on. Enjoy, or whatever. W-O
