Subject: RE: Honky Tonk Drinking Songs From: GUEST,Lillian Kay Smith Date: 16 Sep 07 - 02:32 PM Just in case any ones interested, this song was written by my father, Jack Kay. He played the fiddle in Webb Pierce's band in the early and mid 50's. I have the original paper he wrote the song on and the contract where he sold the rights to Webb. My Dad died in 1971. I have several songs that Dad wrote. Unfortunately, Dad had a drinking problem and most knew that so when he'd have a few too many and he's sell them for pennies. "Here I Am I'm Drunk Again", to my knowledge, was the only one that made the charts. I am always looking for memorbilia from the era that Dad played with Webb, especially any video's. If anyone has any I'd really appreciate it if you'd contact me. Thanks, Lillian lilliankaysmith@yahoo.com August, Georgia |
