Subject: Lyr Add: MYSTERIOUS MOSE From: GutBucketeer Date: 19 Sep 01 - 01:05 AM In another thread: Jug Band and Skiffle Song Lyrics and Chords L.R. Mole asked for the chords to Mysterious Mose. I have a recording of R. Crumb and the Cheap Serendaders singing it. The Heptune Web Site says that it was the Title Song in a Betty Boop Cartoon. Was that it's origin? Who else recorded it.
Mysterious Mose was the lead song in the third Betty Boop Cartoon by the Fliesher Brothers. Dm Gm A7 Dm |

Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Add: Mysterious Mose - Jug Band From: LR Mole Date: 19 Sep 01 - 02:01 PM One "Mose" was at one time, around the turn of the century or the end of the nineteenth, the king of New York organized crime. Never seen and only whispered about, he operated through an assistant named "Sykesy". That's really all I know about him,but I wonder if there's a connection to this song. |

I heard a recording from the 30's on the radio, but I don't know who did it. But it's at least that old. |
