You also corrected the spelling in the thread title, Joe, which makes my posts rather nonsensical, so while you're in editing mode, perhaps you could edit them out, including this one.

Subject: Lyr Add: BURGLAR BOLD^^
From: Stewie

Sam McGee did a version under the title 'Burglar Bold'. I reckon it differs sufficiently from that in the DT as to justify posting:

BURGLAR BOLD

I'll sing you a song of a burglar man
Who went to rob a house
He sneaked right in the window
As quiet as a mouse

He was thinking of all the money in hell
While under the bed he lay
At nine o'clock he saw a sight
It made his hair turn grey
Lord, lord, oh lordy

At nine o'clock an old maid came in
I am so tired she said
She thought everything was all right
And forgot to look under the bed

She took out her teeth and her big glass eye
And the hair from the top of her head
That burglar had nineteen fits
As he peeped from under the bed
Lord, lord, oh lordy

The burglar crept from under the bed
He was a total wreck
The old maid was on to him
And grabbed him around the neck

She didn't holler nor scream at all
But stood as meek as a lamb
'Oh lord, my prayers are answered
For now I've found a man'
Lord, lord, oh lordy

She took a revolver from the drawer
And to that burglar said
'Young man if you don't marry me
I'll blow off the top of your head'

The burglar looked for a place to 'scape
But he found no way for to scoot
He looked at her big glass eye, said
'For God's sake go on and shoot'

Pity, my imagination was running riot about what a bugler might do for an old maid ..........

Should that be "bugler" or "burglar"?
