how come when I add a message to an existing thread and then post it, it does nt go to the top but stays where it is ? It's going to be interesting to see where this one ends up 'cos I haven't started a thread for ages.

What,if anything , am I doing wrong ?

I would imagine that it depends upon the thread's position at the time of posting. If posts are made to the other threads that are above that has your interest while you are composing your response, then it is possible that the position in the list might not change. One other possibility is that you might be using the "back" button of your browser to view the thread list.

If it isn't due to either of these reasons, then my guess is that it is just you.

Well, being a little frustrated I sent a personal message to Joe Offer in the hope that he could help because even this thread had 'disapeared' then Lo and Behold I decided to reload and guess what ... ha ha it was near the top.

So Alan C let's see what happens to my reply...you may be right.

Okee dokee I've got it sussed.After I've posted to the thread and sent it of nothing appears to happen but as soon as I reload there it is ...instant Deja Vu.

Ah, you have it, Ritchie. Probably, you have your browser set so it doesn't refresh the Forum Menu page when you go to it. Ordinarily, when you post a message, you should be taken back to a refreshed Forum Menu. If you're still having problems, go to the Help Forum, and we'll talk you through resetting the options on your browser.

I've been noticing the same thing over the last week or so. It never happened before, but all of the sudden the screen wasn't changing, and I was finding threads with more posts than indicated on my forum home screen. My browser is Netscape. What should I be doing differently?

Only this time it did jump to the top of the screen. I'm confused. (Although, admittedly that doesn't take much to accomplish.)

Well, a related problem: if I go directly to Personal Page and click on a thread I'm tracing, I get...a blank. But I can still get to the thread through the full list. Peculiar.
