Not the same, I know, but Nancy the Piano Lady is worth a look.

Richard, thanks from me as well. Rose's site was a real treasure and a source for valuable and rare recordings. Some I had missed the first time around, some I once had but were lost, some that were fondly remembered, and many that I had on lps but was lacking the tools to digitize them. It was obvious that the site was a labor of love and anyone who has any experience with recordings would know that she spent many hours preparing music and posting it. I also benefited by requesting recordings that she posted for me.   Several sites I treasured have been closed, but I do not miss any as much as the Record Lady.

Hello, Richard. Thanks for your post. It's definitely not the wrong time and place. It was clear to me that Rose was a hard working, dedicated, person trying to provide a wonderful service for an often unappreciative world.

Bless her for all the long hours and hard work.

MAYBE THIS IS THE wrong time, and place,to post any of my own beliefs and opinions about ROSE'S web site, but as it stands right now,I have a copy of her complete site on CD and DVD.Rose spent many years maintaining that site, sometimes working way into the wee hours of the night, just answering the requests and posting the songs people would ask for. Some times she would post the songs and send whoever asked for them a copy by e-mail.Now that's dedication...I don't know about anybody else, but her site will be missed for many years to come,me being one of them.Rose is back in Maine and her e-mail addess is [deleted] I hope she doesn't mind my unauthorized help.

Richard Stelter,Her husband, who is in Texas.

Hi, Richard. Thanks for posting. Many of us were helped by the Record Lady over the years. I'm going to delete her e-mail address from her post because it's our usual policy not to allow people to post the non-business address information of others. If any known Mudcatter needs to contact the Record Lady, they can obtain her e-mail address from me.

Went there but no info on the status. I couldn't get any of the songs to play due to a RealPlayer error - so unsure what is needed. This is a great site - Steve

ok!...it seems various attempts are in the works...if it DOES look like Rose can get $$$ support and last another year, Max may know better how things stand and not be so overwhelmed personally....

In the meantime, folks....play some of those songs for yourself and see it it is worth it to you..(I know, I know...it ain't for just everyone)...but the yodeling pages alone are worth it!

Hi all!! The last word I have from Rose is on Sept 17th. She said she had sent Max an e-mail but had not heard from him. Today I received a PM from Max which basically told me he was looking at the situation, so I can olny assume they connected. I have every faith that if anything can be done, Max will find it. Poor Rose was stranded in Maine because of the airport shutdowns following the September 11th attacks. Lets all keep our fingers crossed and hope.

National Aaarrrgghhh Day must be today, is all I can figure.

I think it was Banjer who said he thought she had her plate full with other matters and so we just left word in the thread. I do not know Rose well enough to write on Max's behalf to her. Perhaps Banjer will send her a message.

I think an email to Rose may have been better...I don't know why she and Max didn't connect..(or maybe they did and nothing was possible)....I'm just reporting what I read...)

(and I tried everything I knew to avoid making a double post...went & checked to be **sure** that first hanging attempt had not made it before I tried again...arrrggghh)

In the first thread about this I posted a notice to Rose that Max was willing to try free hosting under the Mudcat umbrella. She never responded. Twere better left in the old thread, Bill. How about a link?

we had a thread on this going...Rose, the Record Lady has an immense site of Country music which is about to die, click here to read her explanation and request for help. If you like this sort of thing, tell your friends and lets see if we can get some attention to the matter.

here is the working site which is near deletion play a few songs and look at the lists to see what a treasure this is

Who knows? Maybe publicity here will make the difference!
