Believe it's a Bill Monroe gospel number. I can recall the tune but only some of the lyrics. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

I haven't checked Monroe recordings (Bear Family's 3 sets)yet, but I guess this is the one.

IT'S ME AGAIN LORD
(Dottie Rambo)

Troubles come and I can't find an answer
Lonely nights I spend in agony
I have no other friend that I can turn to
So here I am Lord beggin' on my knees.

CHORUS
It's me again Lord,' I've got a prayer that needs an answer
It's me again Lord, I've got a problem that I can't solve
And I don't mean to worry you but here I am facing something new
And I need help that only comes from You, it's me again Lord.

I know You're mighty busy in Your Heaven
Forming worlds and hanging stars to shine
But You promised if I'd ask that I'd receive it
So here I am Lord asking one more time.

Chorus:

Some background information from notes by Charles Wolfe to 4-CD set Bill Monroe: Bluegrass 1970-1979 (Bear Family BCD 15606 DI), p.4.

...It's Me Again, Lord comes from the fine western Kentucky gospel songwriter Dottie Rambo. A native of Camp Brechenridge, Kentucky, Dottie began writing songs when she was 12 years old, and soon attracted the attention of gospel giant Jimmie Davis, who began popularizing her songs. Though not specifically a gospel songwriter, Dottie Rambo produced favorites like One More Valley and Build My Mansion (Next Door To Jesus), often used by gospel bluegrass bands. By the time this song was cut in 1970 Dottie, her husband Buck, and her daughter Reba, had formed The Singing Rambos and were well established as a force in country gospel.

Nan Goland and I have been singing this for a long time -- it's really fun. Nan got it from the Spiritual Way Quartet, with words exactly as above.

Cheers, Nancy

Dottie Rambo wrote It's Me Again Lord. Bill Monroe may have sung it, but Dottie wrote it.
