Anyone passing through our area an hour south of Corning?Elmira NY (routes 6 & 15 in PA) is invited to drop by. We have sleeping space and good cooking, if you wish to break your journey coming or going, or if you want to add vacay or retreat time of any duration, before or after the Getaway.

David C. and I are coming from Hardy County, West Virginia. This will be David's first Getaway. He is wondering if there will be any other dobro players there. I keep telling him that if there aren't, there will be after they see and hear him play. He is also bringing one of his banjos and his collection of mouth harps. I think he is excited about the possiblity of playing with the jug band, among other things.

I'll just be bringing the Adventure guitar and maybe another "extra" guitar. If there's room, I'll pack the washboard as well.

I am getting more and more excited! There's only slightly less than 480 hours to go!

Well I'm sure doing my best to make it. (all the way from Scarborough Ontario) It's not a lock though, for a couple of reasons a bit beyond my control; number one being Duckboots' Dad's (in Scotland) state of health, and the other thing being some odd recent developements in Canada-US. border crossing.

We all love the Getaway even Scott who at 14 is not fond of folk music. Allan missed it last year due to college interference, so arranged his classes this year accordingly. Although we thoroughly enjoyed participating 2 years ago, Duane D. & I will not be there this year. I'm in a new job location & still digging out, as well as trying to pay David's college bills. Duane is 2 weeks into a new job that features 12+ hr days Monday through Friday & 8+ hr days on Saturday! Needless to say, he ain't doin' much but working & sleeping! Bummer.

Dylan (age 12 going on 43) and I will be there, faithful and true. We live in this little-known suburb of Washington called "Silver Spring" -- has anyone ever heard of it? :D One of the things I so dearly love about this area is the dense concentration of wonderful musicians and music lovers.

Speaking of lovers, I am quite single...oops, sorry, forgot this wasn't the "Single Singers" discussion list! (No, I don't think such a thing actually exists, but it would be fun to start one.)

We'll show up sometime Friday and leave some equally specific time on Sunday. It will be wonderful to see and hug so many of you [again] -- oh, singing will be nice, too :-)
