I'd like to do this song for my exam but I can't find it anywhere. It was originally sung by the Rankin Family on their album The Rankin Family. It is a Lady Dufferin Traditional. The sheet music or any information would be great. Thank you for your help!

I posted the lyrics to this in July of 1997. go to the previous thread on this song with the link Martin supplied for more information about it. Wasn't it ever put in the DT??

The reason that there was nothing in this thread, and why it isn't in the DT, is that it is the wrong title.

The correct title is Lament of the Irish EMIGRANT. There have been a number of threads, some quite long on it under that name. Do a Forum search with Irish Emigrant

Hmmm. Looking in the DT, it appears that I was wrong. The song is NOT in the DT, in either form, Lament of the Irish Emigrant or Lament of the Irish Immigrant.

I am in the process of starting a web page for real audio song files to be used with at least a few of our threads. It is very much in a beginning stage, but it is far enough along to be of use. I don't intend to make this a site for the general public, just us. How much I put up there depends on whether the group sees it as a valuable resource.
