I remember what I think was the verse or one of the verses:

Mrs. McQueen has a sewing machine,
And Mrs. Hayhoe has a new radio,
While old Mrs. Pryor has a new clothes dryer,
And they did it on the dough they all saved from Mil-ko.

In line 2, Hayhoe may not have been the correct name, but it rhymed.

(Northern Ontario, Canada in the 50's)

I recall the commercial differently. It had a background rhythm track and today might be considered an early rap song.

How now brown cow, what's new with you?
What's new you ask, well can I moo,
It's Milko, Milko, instant chocolate Milko.
Tastes smooth and creamy like chocolate oter,
And listen to this, you just add water
To Milko, Milko, instant chocolate Milko.
So take a tip from the old brown cow,
You'll love chocolate Milko, better get some now.
That's Milko, Milko, instant chocolate Milko.

This was heard in Ottawa, Canada in the late 50s or early 60s.

What I remember about this commercial is that the very last line was, "Buy some for Lulu!" Well, I either misremember it, since this was also a tag line for Smarties candy, the Canadian version of M&Ms. Or, since Smarties were made by either Rowntree's or Nestlé's, it could be that Milk-o was too, and they capitalized on the tag line, which was very well known at the time. Well, that's all I've got.

My brother just discovered a print ad for Mil-ko (the correct typography). It's at:

which puts me in mind of mondegreens.....for a long time I sang the words to an older pop song as, "I believe in Milko, where you goin, you sexy thing" until one of my kids pointed out to me that the correct line was, "I believe in miracles". LOL... Such is the power of advertising....

...should you have ANY information on the MILKO TV commercials (what stations, if in the New York area and during what years) please contact me = frank_gerber at verizon.net

I'm looking to also see if MILKO sponsored any children's shows, back in the 40', 50's or 60's also. So much of the information seems lost or misplaced by studios and stations. :-(

Thank you, ever so much!

Does anyone have information on the MILKO company doing television commercials? If so, what stations, where and when? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I loved that jingle. The only other line I can remember is that at the end, or towards the end, the little girl says, "I'll ask my mummy to get me some."

I should mention that of course the commercial was animated - a cartoon.

Does anyone have the full lyrics to the TV jingle for Milko? The commercial began with a little girl skipping along a sidewalk to the accompaniment of two bars of some skipping music, when she encounters a cow, and the conversation goes in speech-song to the music as follows:

GIRL: How now, brown cow, what's new with you?

COW: What's new, you ask - well, can I moo!
It's MMMilko! MMMilko! Instant new flavored MMMilko!

GIRL: You say it's new and tasty, too?

COW: That's right, little girl, and it's good for you.

[There follows more, and the ditty ends with:]

BOTH IN HARMONY: Make it by the pitcher or make it by the glass -
But make mine with Mil-ko!

We kids loved this commercial. Anyone got the rest?
