Does anyone have the complete lyrics for "I am weary", written by Pete Roberts as recorded on the soundtrack to O Brother Where Art Thou?

Guest Aragom,

Here you go. I have only heard this by The Stanley Brothers. Nice song.

I AM WEARY LET ME REST
The Cox Family

[D] Kiss me mother, [G] kiss your [D] darling
Lay my head upon your [A] breast
Throw your [D] loving arms around me
I am weary [A] let me [D] rest

[A] Seems my life is swiftly [D] fading
By your sea they do now [A] show
I am [G] standing by the [D] river
Angels wait to [A] take me [D] home

[D] Kiss me mother, [G] kiss your [D] darling
See their fate upon my [A] brow
While I'll [D] soon be with the angels
Faith has doomed my [A] future [D] well

[A] Through the years you've always [D] loved me
And my life you tried to [A] save
But now [G] I shall slumber [D] sweetly
In a deep and [A] lonely [D] grave

[D] Kiss me mother, [G] kiss your [D] darling
Lay my head on your [A] breast
Throw your [D] loving arms around me
I am weary [A] let me [D] rest
I am weary [A] let me [D] rest

This song is a rewrite of a G.F. Root song from 1862 called Kiss Me Mother or some such, about a dying soldier. We talked about it in another thread awhile back.
