And beware, the saxons and the vikings are my kinfolk (except the bloody normans-pigs!) So Beware the Northmen are coming, you may prey to be spared from the wrath, like Bede, but it'll do ye no good. for armed with axe, sword and dagger-(us Vikings are tough and need no shield for Odin and Thor watch over us!) we come on a pilage !

We come to pilage yore houses and rape your sheep!!!!

And if that isn't enough---I'll sing to ye until ye scream "veritable mercy be given unto us"

What say ye, shall we cross Ofers Dyke and be done?

I have cast the Runes and the omens are good!

Ahhh ! History repeats it'self - an alliance of the People and the Norsemen against the Saxons and Normans.

Tis true, the Alliance between Gynedd and Dublin lasted for many years.

Be warned the white sheets are not the KKK - we used burning cages, not crosses.

Eric, did I mention that Vikings settled in Dorset (we have 3 types of sheep all of our own) and that my home village (well, it would have been if my granfer hadn't had to stop for the milking and I wasn't so keen to get into the world....) has Viking roots.... even down to a Viking name - Abodes Berig!

The blonde hair is all my own, as you will shortly see in the new calendar....

So now we know where the survivors of the Bloody Point battle twixt Alfred's Wessex Navy and the Danes went ashore !!!

And just for Eric -

"Oh the Mountain Sheep are Sweeter,
But the Valley Sheep are fatter,
We therefore deemed it meater,
To carry off the latter !"

Gareth

PS - And if you really want the rest of Owain Goch's War Song ask and I will post same when I'am sober.

And just to compleat the chorus here are the verse(ions) of Cosher Bailey dedicated to LtS

From the "Songs for New Bikers" Thresd

"Oh Liz has bought a motor bike,
She'll no longer have to hike,
From the East coast to the West,
Her speed it is the best !"

"Have you ever Saw, Etc "

"Up to Llnstock one fine day,
Liz forsook the Motor Way,
She did frighten the local Sheep,
Up and down those hills so steep."

"Have you ever Saw, Etc

"Now The Cameras know her well,
It's Liz the Squeak from out of Hell,
With her roaring, speeding machine
Will her licence remain clean ?"

"Have you ever Saw, Etc,"

And for Eric

" Now Eric was a Viking, He was always going hiking,
Be a long way from the coast,
Was the Wooley backs safest boast.

"Have you ever Saw, Etc,"

Gareth

Please include Andy, he's a fiddler who plays at the jug,(accordion as well) who is coming, don't know mudcat name,(friend of flaj) but he's been around the jug for some time. I'm sharing his car, and he's looking to put his tent up (the fool!) So that's one more. This time next week, we'll be stood outside some where taking photo's I guess, BUT think of all the music and fun we'll have had in the previous 48 hours. Let's drink a toast to surviving the weekend without too many sore heads-well for those of you who take the devils liquor.

See you next friday evening.

Where will we be at around 20.00hrs Bron? (Which is when Andy and I will arrive I hope. Earlier if possible)

Can someone describe the caravan-trailer to me please, is there any water in it? Is there a stove, can I make coffee? Is there a toilet? Or where does one go? AND I don't want sarki answers!!!!! Or else I might change from sheep to young boys, men and then the women !!

Eric. the trailer is behind Pipins. It has water and a stove for making tea, There is a netty in the back but it is better to use the outside one, There is a sauna. and a gas fire. Sam and I are playing in Goole on Friday night, Jezabel is meeting up with us in Goole, We should be starting off about midnight, collecting Patrige in Huddersfield and arriving about 3-00am. Don't take up all the bloddy beds and have a cup of tea waiting for us.

What time will food be available? What time does fish and chip shop shut (for the wee'uns)? can I bring kids into the pub? Who else is camping/caravanning by the railway? Can I stay up late? Mrs Duck, the action will be taking place at the Institute, which is not a pub, so children welcome.
THERE WILL NOT BE A BAR.
However, arrangements have been made for a barrel of "Cloud Nine" to be available, courtesy of Trevor, and an honesty box will be nearby. If you drink other stuff, the pubs are nearby, and the Spar sells drink.
Sorry to keep going on about this, but I don't want people to be without their favourite tipple.
Hot food will be served as needed, and I think the chippy is open till 9. Pippins shuts at 8.
I think Friday night will be a sort of party to welcome the Friday arrivals and get thoroughly "Warmed up"
Pippins will be open for breakfast 9-30ish, and there will be alternative breakfast at my mum's.
PM me for my mobile number if you are not sure about anything.
Cheers, Bron.
