I can get some of the gist of it, but would like to be able to comprehend the whole thing.*smile* Thanks, kat |

I heard a fascinating discussion on "micro-languages," I think that is what they called them, on NPR, and I remember posting a link about it somwehere. Really intriguing. |
Subject: RE: Ship That Never Returned - in Lilandejo From: Haruo Date: 06 Oct 01 - 07:15 PM Sorry, kat! I had just started to compose a post when the computer kicked me out (I do most of my online stuff from the public library, which automatically boots you after 45 minutes) and apparently it posted what I had done (which wasn't much). It was my intent to provide links to both of the versions in the DT (Work's original and a folk reworking). The MIDI on my page is expanded from the DT's "WRECK97.MID", following vague childhood memories of Charlie on the MTA. My translation doesn't strictly adhere to either Work's or the folk version in the DT; I think I based it on a different folk version, but it's been 3 years since I did it and don't recall precisely what I used for a text. Liland who agrees it wouldn't hurt y'all to learn a mite of Esperanto ;-) and whose next post will deal with a Welsh text on my site |
