This is a new topic to me, but one occasionally alluded to. Is there a tradition of banjo in Cajun music? If so, how is it played? Do any of you play Cajun banjo? Are there any prominent examples recorded? If there is such a tradition, is it still used today?

There is no tradition of the banjo in Cajun music. One can occasionally see a banjo at a Cajun music jam sesion and I would assume that would could find a few recent Cajun (broadly defined) albums with the occasional banjo lick, but that is about it.
