I, for one, would not have given the peace prize to Annan. I don't think the UN is a bastion of peace, somehow, especially not today. Opinions? Songs? Darwin award nominees? But then again, can anyone think of a country/people that aren't at war, undeclared or not, with another country/some other people?

I agree wiht Dave...Like the Rwanda fiasco...where they courtmartialed the commander of UN "peace keeping" forces, because they did not allow him to stop the genocide...and as a result over 800,000 were murdered....

My feeling is that this year's Nobel Prize for BS: Non-Music should go to the thread I launched entitled "Who is sexier? Spaw or Shatner? Vote!" As either Non-Music or BS it was without peer. I know the competition is stiff, but I've got my hopes up.

On the other hand, V.S. Naipaul's award for literature was long overdue. The closest I've ever come to taking the Krel mind boost was when I was reading his work---especially Miguel Street, Bend In The River, The Enigma Of Arrival and A Way In The World. A brilliant writer.
