I miss the NEW Mudcat where all we saw were BS posts and trolls and flamers. Lately I've noticed a lot of musical posts being put out there. What's this all about? Who out there is trying to turn this into a MUSIC website? I want to spend my time naming cats, farting in public and all the other nonsense that I so dearly love. Am I the only one upset at all this MUSIC stuff that's been creeping in?

Good points. I also miss all those "good old bhoy's" (sadly quiet post PORTO) who used to post smart-alec remarks when you hadn't taken the time to carefully transcribe the lyrics to some stupid song that someone else probably didn't really want anyway (despite their patently false pleas for the lyrics).

Indeed, the lack of BS lately has been frightening. I, for one, am considering leaving Mudcat forever if something is not done about it. I demand the right to insist on all threads being about exactly what I want them to be about at all times, because I read EVERY THREAD...even stuff with titles about subjects that are clearly of no interest to me. Even stuff that has me gnashing my teeth and flinging the paperweight across the room, and biting the modem cable. I don't actually have any life outside doing this, and I'm getting re-a-l-l-y ticked off about the decline in BS threads.

If this forum doesn't meet the exact criteria I have set for it in my own mind, then what the hell good is it anyway?

I've personally been getting a real charge out of all the new threads that rehash topics that were done to death years ago. I mean, it's really important to me to know what everybody else has in his/her guitar case now so I can compare it to what it was when the same thread ran some months/years ago.

It's also vitally important to me to know exactly how many Mudcatters are from particular places — especially Hull, where they apparently now have regular police patrols ensuring that everybody in the city spends at least an hour a day on the Mudcat, whether they're interested in music or not.

And, of course, knowing the first chord everybody learned is probably the only thing that's keeping me safe from anthrax.

So, all in all, I'm really pleased with the way Mudcat is going these days.....

Thanks ed for the really cool colours!!!!! I previously had a fairly restricted selection without going into the realms of typing a # mark followed by a random selection of six numbers and letters up to F, and just hoping that it would give me a nice colour.
