It was great to put some new faces with names -- Micca's great fun, and a fine singer. Derek Seed from the U.K. was there too, and also a fine singer. He's visiting Judy and Dennis Cook, and they'll all be on staff at the NY Pinewoods fall weekend in CT this weekend so they won't be at the Getaway :( I didn't recognize Bro. Joe with his handsome beard -- he told me that he grew it in honor of his retirement from government service (no need to look boyish and clean-cut anymore?). It is amazing to meet all these wonderful 'catters and put names to faces, we had a good (if somewhat noisy) sing and they had some HEAVY DUTY Cider!!! so by the end of the evening I was "tired but happy" and since my body clock was thinking that It was 4 am on a day that had started a 6 .30 the previous day!!! avery tired person went to bed at about 1 am(local time, and woke to a sunlight utumnal morning ,full of red maples and amazing colours and the wonderful hospitality of friends, whom I thank most sincerly for having me!! further bullitins from the front later and although I'm not rich and although I'm not poor I'm as happy as those thats got thousands or more |

We had planned this well in advance and frankly figured to spend our anniversary with all of you at the Royal Mile. Once again though, real life intrudes. Sinsull has some details as does Allan C. but we have had to add one, and possibly a second, trip to Atlanta into the equation and it is part of a "Gift Horse" that we cannot afford to look in the mouth. So adding the bucks for those trips within the next few weeks meant that the Getaway was out of the question. As late as last Sunday and even Tuesday I guess, we were still trying to make it work, but the $ just weren't going to be there. I hate it when the real world intrudes.......... Have a great time and don't let Sins get you on the subway in that kilt!!! Spaw |

I have no doubt increased my reputation in my neighborhood as having 'unusual' friends. (We don't see too many people in kilts in the front yard in Silver Spring). Thanks to all of you who made it and all of you who wished us well. Ray and Joie Morrison who own the pub were anxious that Micca have a good time.
