Ya ya ya... I know that a lot of you here hear the name and ask "Who?", but that's really sad...

He put on a wonderful show last night... the Manzer is sounding just a sweet as ever it has, and he brought a new toy... a custom made accoustic guitar that had "A honkin great bit hole cut in it and a resontor dropped in"... In the pub afterwards Stephen said he was still trying to get his 'R2' (mixing stack and sound board) to do it justice but to this unlearned ear, it sounded pretty wild... especially when he played "When My Baby Calls My Name" on it with just a hint of guitar synth and volume peddle...

Lot's of new material last night as well... some neat songs bout infidelity from both sides of the issue... and a trunk load of 'driving' songs... Stephen says the new album should be coming out in Feb or March... Look for it, unavailable, at fine music stores everywhere...

Unfortunately, what was missing was the crowds... Our American friends are still not braving the border and so missed out on a fantastic show...

I give the show a solid 8.5 out of ten... but I'm then taking way half a point because the people who run the Windsor Folk Club keep that room so damn cold!!! More than a few people in the crowd were sitting in their coats all night...

See the web page for more information on Windsor Folk... gonna be a good year...

Yes, Stephen is an excellent songwriter and performer. Saw him at the Orillia Opera House last year.

That's a shame, Bob. We have some pretty good musicians there —— both in-house, as it were, and in the concert series.

CH is right. Stephen did a great show last night.

David are you just trying to make me envious all the way from western Saskatchewan?

Hey John,

Good to hear from you, guy.

No, not doing a number on you, but if it makes you feel any better Joyce and I will be away Nov. 10 when Mike Stevens is back. Almost enough —— almost, I say — to make me come back from N.C. a week early.

cheers,

david

Don't ask "who" just go!!

Stephen is superb - OK I have a slight bias - he recorded the live album at the Cloud (Toronto) so I'm involved. But after seeing him there live you want to catch him there OR elsewhere

Cheers Rana
